My old skimmer basket was falling apart. Read some of the reviews and decided to go look at some stores first. Pinch a Penney had the exact same basket for over $40. Took a chance and bought from Amazon for $14. Very sturdy hard plastic. I love the handle and have had zero problems with it. Will definitely purchase again when the other one goes out.

This skimmer basket fit perfectly, was exactly the same size as my old one, and it seems very sturdy. Price was decent - cheaper than the same basket at my local pool store. I am expecting the handle to break because after 35 years as a pool owner, I know that EVERY skimmer basket handle breaks. I really dont care if the handle breaks - it's no big deal. Besides, the handle kinda gets in the way when you're emptying the basket anyway.

This generic filter basket fit my skimmer perfectly, but it has an odd attachment not present in the OEM Hayward B-152 Skimmer Basket: a circular, rotating weight attached inside the basket. This won’t matter to most people -- and some may even appreciate the extra ballast -- but it will prevent attaching an aftermarket extension handle without a bit of modification. I solved the problem by flipping the basket over and drilling out the plug holding the circular weight in place. The weight fell right out. Removing the plug left a small hole, but that was covered by the extension handle mount, so in the end, it worked out fine. The good price makes it an excellent value. The modification, if needed, is easy, so removing a star didn’t seem justified.

Purchased as a replacement part in Nov 2023. Fits perfectly. But as most people stated the handle is fragile and breaks easily. Lasted till August 2024. . .***UPDATE*** August 2024 purchase lasted till Feb 2025. Just received my reorder and was pleasantly surprised by the revamped handle design! Looks sturdier. Even the fit is more exact. Let's see how long this one lasts.
