This is the fourth lamp replacement that I have done on my old Sony SXRD.Pros:1) Very inexpensive2) Well packaged3) Very fast delivery4) It workedCons:1) Although it looked identical to my previous replacement lamp, it do not fit in place easily as the the three prior lamps did2) I thought I might be doing something wrong, so I reinstalled the old lamp and it went is super easy and had a positive click in place3) I almost gave up an returned it but decided to use excessive force, and it did set and connect4) When it connected, it was not satisfying - not a solid snap into place like the others

When my son's tv had gone out I was expecting to spend a pretty penny. I did my research online and found out the bulb was bad. Next went to YouTube to see how to install the new bulb. I found a video from about 6 years ago saying that they spent about $150 on the bulb so I came on Amazon and just to my surprise I found this for $17. It arrived as promised well-packaged and it works great!! Very easy to remove old and replace new bulb. No issues, Picture quality is just as the original. Get product well worth the money if you love your Sony TV!!!

I have had my Sony TV for approximately 10 years. The first time my lamp went out I spent $90 on a replacement. Then I found this gem of a lamp. Buying from Amazon let me find these for under $20. They work great. Easy to replace. I do not track the number of hours on each lamp, but the ones I have used have lasted approximately 2 - 2.5 years. That was about the same amount of time as my $90 OEM lamp. This is a great deal.I am not sure why others have had issues with their replacement lamp, but I have bought three of these lamps and all have worked perfectly.

On May 4,2014 I made two separate orders from this company for Sony replacement bulbs. The first was for a generic bulb with overnight delivery. The second order was for a Phillips bulb with regular delivery. The generic cost was about $35.00 plus $20.00 delivery charge and the Phillips cost $113.00. They both arrived on May 6. Upon opening the Phillips, I found a loose metal piece and the bulb was crooked in the housing. I returned it the same day and one week later have not yet received a replacement. I installed the generic bulb into my TV and began using it on May 7,2014. Today is May 10, 2014 and the generic just blew up. I used it approximately 5 hours. Both bulbs came from Exclusivebulbs but different locations. One shipped from San Diego and the other from Las Vegas. At this point I'm not sure how this company operates, but am willing to give them one final chance. It's been one week since my original bulb went out after two years of use, I've spent almost $170.00 and still don't have a working television. I will submit an update review to inform the readers how this company resolved my problems.UPDATE... Well I kinda feel like a schmuck..Exclusivebulbs finally did send me a replacement for the Phillips bulb and did credit my account for the returned generic bulb, so they can be trusted to stand behind their products. Because of this, I'm adding stars to their rating. Perhaps I was a little too hasty in writing my reviews, but I'm sure you all know what being deprived of your television can do to a man.

This lamp assembly is a complete assembly that simply plugs right into the projection lamp socket in a Sony Projection TV. It plugged right in and worked perfectly. I simply followed the lamp replacement instructions for my TV. The picture was noticeably brighter than my original lamp with 5200 hours on it - It hadn't failed but it was getting weaker. I turned down the lamp power in the TV settings to save on lamp life for theo new one and even at reduced power it was still brighter than my old lamp. I am saving the old lamp in case this one fails.NOTICE: DO NOT TOUCH THE FRONT OF THE LAMP - OIL AND CHEMICALS FROM YOUR FINGERPRINTS CAN CAUSE EARLY FAILURE. It says that in the tech manual for the TV. Also, while you are at it, vacuum the nearby cooling ventilation slots on the TV to insure good cooling and airflow. The good:This is a complete replacement assembly, not just the lamp itself - so installation is very easy.It fit right into my TV and worked perfectly.Very good price. The "maybe"There is nothing on the lamp or the assembly that I can to see to indicate the actual manufacturer. Time will now well it lasts.

The packaging was great. The product looked good and fit well. It fired up perfectly and was as bright as the original. I heard a pop about 10 minutes in, and the TV went dark. I pulled the bulb/housing out and the internal glass tube had blown up. All of the glass shards were contained in the larger bulb housing, but I was disappointed to say the least. I tried hard to find an original Philips bulb for the replacement, but apparently that's not an easy thing to come by. This is my first replacement after 7 years. The original bulb was a Philips 100W SXRD. Returned to sender and will try from a different location...but I'm staying with an Amazon site because they're still amazing to work through.

I am not sure if I am just lucky or what, but I was able to pull out my old bulb and housing and pop this new one in and it worked the first time, no problems. With everything that I read, I was sure I was going to have to go through the aggravation of removing the bulb from the new housing and putting it into my existing housing. But that was not the case.Hopefully this last as long as the original bulb, but I will be happy with a couple of years. If for some reason this bulb dies in 2 months then you can be sure I will return to down grade my rating. At this point, I have no complaint and would definitely recommend purchasing a replacement bulb from this vendor.
