My car has only been serviced at the Lexus dealer prior to getting to me.The boots are identical to the oem boots (one softer, one harder)Take your time and this axle rebuild process is well worth it , given the cost difference.Yellow grease on the inside joint, black on the outside joint.

I have tried other boots from other manufactures and they all split. Even under normal road driving no 4x4 offroading. Toyota brand boot are the best. I am doing the boot stretch mod on my lifted FJ Cruiser and these boots hold up the best. You don't need a diff drop if you do the boot stretch mod and these boots hold up the best.

The boots are not genuine, but the grease seems to be. Now I'm not sure how long these boots will last, but non-genuine boots usually don't last more than a few years if you live in areas with harsh winters. Salt and mag chloride, reduce life span of boots. They are a harder plastic than the original Toyota boots. Anyways, if the price it too good, you should always question it. I was misled and I assume everyone else will also get non-genuine boots as well. Shame on this seller for cutting corners.

Don't waste your money on cheap kits. This is a messy job that you only want to do once. They don't tell you which grease goes where. The RAREMAX SLF 94161 (light brown color) goes on the INNER and the darker green-brown goes on the Outer.

Did one axle on my GX470 and now it’s time to do the second one. Btw, Amazon’s part selector says this doesn’t fit my vehicle but it’s the right part number and fits perfectly!

Fun job (NOT!) but much cheaper than replacing with inferior replacement axles. NOTE- TAN / BROWN GREASE IS FOR THE INNER JOINT. Also note - comes with 2 different types of bands. Recommended CV clamp pliers work on outer bands but had to use snap-ring pliers on small inner band and large flat nose pliers on large inner band. It's not rocket science: If I can do it you can too. Have lots of gloves and towels handy for cleaning out old grease.
