While measurement is accurate for the top of the basket , the base of the basket is much smaller so it isn’t suitable for my original intent (mail catch). I will use it for bathroom decor as it is a beautiful basket.

I live alone and don't need to buy a lot of fresh fruit for the week. This basket is the perfect size for me. I can fill it with 4 avocados, a bunch of bananas, some small tomatoes and maybe a few peaches or plums or?? Also, it's well made, sturdy, simple design that fits with any decor.
