This floor to mount is a must have if you’re looking to upgrade your floor Tom leg mounts. I replaced both my 16 inch and 18 inch floor Tom leg mounts and have gigged with the set for the past year and absolutely love how extremely reliable endurable it has been compared to the OEM mounts on my drum set. Also slightly heavier material used in the construction of this mount, which I do prefer adding a little bit more weight on the floor toms to keep them stable. I have nothing but praise about Gibraltar hardware!

The fastener on my Roland PD128 drum pad threaded so couldn’t secure it to the drum rack, bought this as a replacement which has worked out well. I had to cut a small bit of rubber off the bass of the shell but other than that it’s a good fit and seems secure and well made.

Looks pretty decent, looks like it should fit directly onto a medium rack Tom, they even include a set of slightly longer screws…… but NO the slightly longer screws will make you screwy if you spend to much time trying to convince yourself that they will fit your fairly generic Tama Swingstar Tom.UPDATE: An absolute waste of $30. Tried to replace the screws, asked the manufacturer by email, got specs for screws they did not provide, tried extra drum parts to find screws at local music shop, thought they fit, but nope they just stripped to threads when tightened all the way.UPDATE II: While the email with the manufacturer representative said that these were supposed to fit directly on a tom, I think not. I then found another Gibraltar product, a silver tom mount that does actually fit directly on the tom.

I use this part for several different applications on my custom Rocket Shells drum kit.This part is installed as the L-rod tom-bracket mount on my 10'' rack tom, as the leg-bracket for my 14'' floor tom, and the kick-drum spurt bracket for the "gull-wing" style spurs on my 20'' kick drum.Hence, any part of my drumkit that is not Rocket Shells proprietary hardware (and thus serviceable by Rocket Shells) is this part.So I'm glad that this a simple, rugged part that has not changed for so many years.When I had these drums built 6 years ago, I chose this part for it's accessibility, so that I could buy it easily in stores or online if I needed to replace any of the above hardware fixtures.Over the years of beating my drums up, I've only had to replace two different STL-3s... One was a failure of the mounting screws (that go inside the shell) and the other was a failure of the wingnut getting bent (when my full hardware case slid down stairs into my floor tom).For the latter, I've converted my floor-tom fixtures into STL-4s, that have two key-bolts instead of wing-nuts.I will continue to use and support his piece as long as Gibraltar still makes it.
