This fountain works exactly like advertised.DO NOT LOSE THE INSTRUCTIONS.This fountain is fantastic but I don't think there's anyway I'd know how to operate it without the instruction manual to get through it. Its not super complicated but it is elaborate and not intuitive in my opinion.That being said when you do put it together this is pretty awesome! Average amount of water as most fountains (though honestly not as much as my current fountain). I don't even mind though because of how well it works! Water goes in one tank, dispenses through a lot, fills a bowl, and then after an interval of time dumps into a separate tank.My cat took to this so quickly. I think she loves the fact that she has consistent fresh water to drink from. I love the fact that the old stale water goes into a separate tank that's easy to dump and clean while preserving the integrity of the first space. Don't be too intimidated by the battery . Charge for a while and then set it up someplace you'll be comfortable changing the tank. For me this meant putting it on a small elevated table where my cat can jump onto it to enjoy.This eliminates so much of the dust transfer and keeps everything clean much longer. I'd say between the battery and the tank of water you get a week of consistent use out of it.

This pet water fountain is a solid upgrade from the traditional filtered models. Instead of constantly swapping out filters or dealing with grimy pump parts, this one automatically replaces old water with fresh at intervals you set—no filters required. It’s surprisingly easy to clean: just remove the top, dump the waste tank, and you're good to go. Setup was simple, and I had it running in minutes. I really like that it’s battery-powered, so it can go anywhere without cords cluttering up the space. The included mat helps catch splashes and keeps things neat.The auto-refill function is super convenient, but it does come with a downside—if the refill happens at night, it’s not exactly quiet. The sound is enough to wake light sleepers (or curious pets), so placement matters. In the living room, the noise was noticeable, but in a more distant corner, it was fine. Still, the benefits outweigh the minor noise issue for me. It's a reliable, low-maintenance option that keeps pets hydrated without daily effort. Just be mindful of the refill timing if you're noise-sensitive.

I really wanted to like this over the typical fountains. Yes this is easier to clean and no filters required but where this machine fails the most is the time intervals at which it changes the water out. They give you 3, 4 and 6 hours. I have 2 cats and they never finish all the water in the dish in a 6 hour period so i end up wasting way more water then the older fountains. my suggestion to the producers of this product is to make a 5, 8 and 12 hour intervals so even on 6 hour intervals which is the highest amount of time, the tank becomes empty in less than 2 days and the wasted water is full.My second complain is none of the water holders (both the dirty water and clean water tanks) do not lock in but just loosely sit on the main unit. This causes leaks on both tanks when the water is either taken out or put into the tanks. I am always cleaning up puddles of water because of this.great concept with a lot of flaws for this price point.

My only complaint is how much water is used each day. It takes at least 2 regular bottles of water a day to keep it full, BUT, if you care about your cat's health, it is way better than using what amounts to using filter medium for a fish tank and the slime that has to be cleaned in a fountain.

We added 2 kittens to the family about 7 months ago as company for our 3½ year old Russian Blue. After changing the filters in the old fountain 2-3 times a month because of the increased water bowl traffic we started looking for another one.We hit the jackpot with this find! It's so easy to use and setup. It took about a week to determine how much and how often they needed the water to dump & refill. Now it's simply filling the reservoir, (we use filtered water from the fridge) cleaning the "bowl" daily and emptying the catch container. No filters, no taking it apart to clean the parts, no clogs from a piece of food, treat or saliva gunk.

Better instructions would have been nice. Videos lead you believe that the lights stay on and it will dump the water on its own when you set the timer. With one one I got the lights don't stay on even when fully charged and you have to press the button to tell it to dump the water. It does dump it on its own and refill the bowl when it's told to, but it doesn't seem to do it the way you are lead to believe. Waisted water does collect in a different tank and the main tank holds almost a full gallon of water.
