Gave this a go to see if it would make playing in dusk and dawn scenarios easier. happy to say it does. Its a typical size 5 volleyball that just glows red so is easier to see. It comes with a few extra batteries too. It uses standard LR44 batteries too which means finding replacements will be easy. Replacing the batteries is also easy with the included tool, or a flat head screwdriver if you cannot find it.The one downside of the light it that point hurts a bit when hitting the ball. its not hard plastic, but not as forgiving as the ball itself, it is crucial for lighting though so no star deductions. Price is also good Its about the cost of a normal volleyball but it glows. Size wise its a typical size 5 next to others I have, not sure about it being used for league play, but for knocking around over a net its fun.

Absolutely love this glow-in-the-dark volleyball!It’s perfect for evening games with the family. The LED lights are super bright and activate on impact, which makes it so fun to play after sunset.The cushioned mesh exterior is soft and comfortable, so it’s great for kids and adults alike. I got this volleyball for my 12-year-old granddaughter and she really likes it. She likes the red color and "because it glows it's fun!"It's an official size and weight and it plays like a regular volleyball that her school uses. It has like a tough fabric finish to it which makes gripping the ball a bit easier. It appears to be very well-made.The fact that it glows in the dark she's crazy about. She and her Dad were volleying out in the driveway, though with snow on the ground, we don't have a net up. But their reports are they gave it two thumbs up! The ball behaves like a true volleyball!I give this 4-stars only because it's not a ball that schools would likely use in games or tournaments, so I just want to alert you to that. If that isn't an issue, I'd say this would be a 5-Star ball for your kids. As a neighborhood or backyard volleyball, it's pretty cool.The box it arrived in is very sturdy, so it passes the packaging test. It arrived Amazon fast, it's very reasonably priced, it includes a hand pump with the needle concealed in its handle. The pump inflated the ball very firmly with about 25 quick strokes, and it included spare button batteries for the LED, although one was already in the ball - it worked right out of the box.I would likely give this 4.5 Stars if pressed on it.

WIth the sun going down sooner in the winter - play doesn't need to stop with this mesh LED Volleyball.First of all - note the size - this was a size 5 ball so it's on the smaller size. Quality wise - the mesh is pretty solid and the stitching and build does make it seem like a quality product. My children did note it felt heavy for a mesh volleyball but more akin to a leather weight - so note that for smaller kids who are more used to beginner volleyballs - this one is heavier.The glow feature is great - even in daytime you can see it. It's activated by impact and auto shuts off at a very reasonable time. You can replace the batteries (after deflating the ball some) but the button cell batteries are very common. It comes with a tool to pry off the buttons.It was very convenient that a pump is included. Loved how the needle is stored away in the pump for safe storage. It does note you had to pump to 3-4 lbs however, there's no way to know you're there so you're going to have to just guess it's at the right pressure - just use common sense there!overall - the glow is great - also my kids are using this just as a general play ball too - because it lights up, they think it's fun to play with - rolling it around the house. The glow effect gives it the appeal of a general play ball which we like a lot.
