I bought this for my '93 Dodge D250 cummins, but no matter how I set the adjustment dials, it won't read accurately for my truck. The little fine tune adjustment screw is made of incredibly soft plastic. I turned it, and it immediately rounded out. I had to disassemble the whole unit and move it with a pick, and it still didn't work. Went in the trash.If you want to put a tach in your first gen ram, you need to go with an Isspro or Autometer. These trucks use some oddball signal voltage, and most tachs won't read correctly. I finally got an Isspro to function correctly, but I had to call them up and have them make me a special signal wire filter, even though I did purchase the vehicle specific wiring harness adapter for my truck.
