At first all was well, but if you don't keep the battery charged at least once in a month span, it will die on you and will never be able to be charged unless you find a 'hack'. If that had not been the case, it could have easily been a 5 star review. Decent value for the money but sadly no way to revive the dead battery.

I don’t usually write reviews but I have to warn you. Don’t buy this light! I purchased it back in June. Used it once and kept it in its case. Today I tried to use the light and the battery is drained. No problem right? After 3 hrs on the charger, I realized that the battery isn’t charging. I called Amazon support and they won’t help because it’s been over 30 days. Now I’m stuck with a $700 brick. I 100% would not recommend this product!

I was using Odin before, then I switch my complete OCF system to Godox. This Godox system is so versatile. I use it with the XPro-N, i can setup the AD400 Pro right out of box easily. It actually impressed me a lot how easy to work with it. Just imagine that i dont have to deal with all the AA batteries (4 for Nikon speedlight with 2 for each Odin). For a 3 speedlight setup, including the master remote it's a total of 20 AA batteries!!!! Now with Godox, only 2 AA for XProN, and the rest are 1 battery per AD200/400 flash. A++

I ordinarily had bought this item in December and the Godox AD400 pro is an incredible tool for photography and outdoors portraits. Great lighting! But two weeks ago, my strobe light stoped working. I had not dropped it or did any damage to it, it just simply wouldn’t turn on anymore. After seen reviews online, many will say it was the battery, therefore I bought a new one and it still didn’t work. I knew the strobe light was damaged internally. I didn’t get the warranty that normally come when buying these product and I was a bit scared of having a $700 dollar item sitting and not working. I contacted Godox by email and they weren’t much help, they only send me a video of how to open and reset a battery. Which I did not have the tools or the experience to do so. They told me at last to contact the seller first. So then I did, I contact Pergear and they where so helpful and told me to ship my item to them and if they could see it wasn’t a damaged produce by me, that they will replace my strobe and send me a new one. Long story short and after an amazing exchange of emails with Lemon from Pergear, I had just received my new light within a week of me contacting them. They also gave me a 24 month extended warranty on my light.I just wanted to share the amazing customer service from this seller, I will definitely buy from the all my photography gear from now on.

I love this thing. It does well and it can be put anywhere. I typically pair it with a glow softbox/beauty dish on my c-stand. Now indoor I have zero issues. It just goes. But outdoors as it is very hot here it can overheat (which it will keep it self from damaging it self do to the heat.) But on a full sunny day I have go full power still to get what I want. That kicks in a cooling fan which drains the battery faster. But I was able to do half a day outside on a single battery. But I have a second one so I made it for the 8 hours I was out shooting (group event). Though for a typical one to one shoot the battery is enough. But as you can see from my attached photos it does give a nice light. Just for those wondering about the modifier I was using. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CY6CMGQ/ref=twister_B07S8QPD3Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Love the Godox AD400 PRO. I am now able to shoot outside with fewer things to worry about. The battery and HSS features hits it out of the park. Well designed and easy to use. I use this with the XT Pro transmitter.

I already owned the Godox AD600BM so I knew what I was getting into. But this is an impressive piece of gear that’s likely to take center stage on most of my sessions. Just ran it through it’s paces on a 3-day location shoot and it never failed. The included case is a huge bonus btw. Stellar.

Switched from Einstein 640s to Godox AD200s and the AD400 Pro. It was the right decision for me as I wanted a portable set of lights with enough power to overpower the sun and allow for HSS. Using with Fuji X-T3 and Godox XPro-F trigger. Very pleased with the quality and consistency of light. First battery would not charge, but Amazon replaced at no cost!

The bottom part where you put into a stand is very plasticky. Should have been better designed. Having said that, this is a premium product and I have to say Godox as a brand does not disappoint. I think the Ad600 is too big and more money then I really want to spend. Plus Ad400 so far is more then enough light. I have these and the Ad200. If I needed more I’ll just clamp it with it. It’s a more portable way of shooting. Can’t seem to find separate battery for sale anywhere. Plus would be cool if they designed a cable that would allow you to detach the head. Otherwise it puts out plenty of lights and able to shoot at least a thousand photos for my modeling shoots. It’s also got a great interface that is easy to read and more modern. I’ll probably get another one of these. I prefer this to the 2 AD200 paired layout. I think that’s too much work and not dependable on top of having to bring an extra accessory. Plus what if one flash dies before the other. This makes tons more sense for 400 Watts. I have 3 Ad200 and this. And I can see one Ad400 as a main light, one Ad200 as fill, and either 2 for back light or one as hair light and another for background. Perfect portable solution until I get another Ad400 just because I love this so much. I think having one interface to work with instead of 2 Ad200 makes way more sense. Plus if you put them on ttl what guarantee do you have that both will output the same.
