Item: Hood Release Latch
Fitment:
- Compatible with 1996-2011 Honda Civic
- Compatible with 1997-2006 Honda CR-V
- Compatible with 2003-2011 Honda Element
- Compatible with 2006-2014 Honda the Ridgeline
Installation instruction:
- Take off panel and hood latch lever completely. This is either held in place with 2 plastic snaps, it can be popped with a regular screwdriver.
- Trim approximately 1' of plastic from around the end of the cable. Use a pipe or tube cutter, score the very hard plastic the proper depth and remove, however, do not cut the metal cable inside of the plastic
- Slide Hood Latch Release Cable Repair Kit onto the end of the cable.
- Use the hex key Allen wrench to tighten the screws.
- Re-install plastic corner kick plate.
NOTE: If you find hood does not fully release after installation, try loosen the set screws just enough that you can move the handle. Then, pull the handle out a little and retighten only 1 set screw and re-test the release. Tighten both set screws until it releases like your original one.

Bonne dimention pour un Civic 2003.Pièce de rechange en métal légé.Permet de réparer la poigné pour ouvrir le capot sans devoir changé le cable au complet. Le plus long est d'enlever le morceau de plastique restent autour du cable. Une fois ce dernier retiré, la pièce de rechange s'insère parfaitement sur le cable.Je recomande.

It works well but I wish it extended out more, because now, it sits too deep into the car and I can't reach it after reinstalling the footwell plastic panel. Great product otherwise.

Takes a little patience to crunch and snip the old plastic off ( 2002 Civic ), but once old crud is out of the way it goes on easy and quick.

Bought this for a friend, bought one before for my car and went perfect, tightened up good, but this was an embarrassment, I couldn't tighten the set screws so he had to leave, I told him get new set screws and see if that will work, if not ill have to return it and I guess get an exchange and see if that on will work.

This was very easy to install. Only had to chip off the old plastic part from the broken latch and this latched into the existing cable wire. I used wire cutters to chip that away plastic away and the latch comes with its own tool to install. Very happy with this purchase. It's better than the original part
