All of the wire and components you need to wire a 2-pickup guitar or bass.
Jazz Basses don't use a selector switch to control what pickup is active, they use two volume controls that allow you to blend the pickups together. Here's what you need for wiring those pickups into your J-bass! All the parts, plus a diagram to show you how.
The premium kit features cloth-covered push-back wire—the right wire for Fender and vintage-style guitar circuitry. The pots in this kit are upgraded to CTS brand for longer life and a smoother, more accurate response.
This setup can be used for basses and guitars, or you can add a selector switch (sold separately) for added flexibility.
Wiring kit for Jazz Bass includes
- Switchcraft output jack
- 250K CTS control pots (3)
- .047uF Orange Drop capacitor
- Non-shielded cloth-insulated push-back circuit wire: 22 AWG, white, 12" long
- Non-shielded cloth-insulated push-back circuit wire: 22AWG, black, 24" long
- Shielded braided push-back circuit wire: 22 AWG, 12" long

Be sure your control knobs will fit!
These CTS pots have a solid, smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob.

Shaft diameter: 1/4" (6.35mm) solid shaft
Thread: 3/8" x 32

Great kit. Arrived quickly and came with everything I needed for my J bass. The wiring diagram was easy enough to understand and there was more than enough wire to get everything set up. I'm not super experienced with this sort of thing and I was able to take out the old components and get the new ones installed in about an hour. Sounds great!

I have installed these on a few of my cheaper basses and it is a nice upgrade. Only thing is I am not a good solder person. I have a local guitar repair guy do it and he was surprised at the quality for the price. No complaints here.

I got this kit to upgrade my 2023 Squire CV 70s 5 string Jazz bass.The parts are high quality name brands (with stew mac stamps as well).There was actually more wire than I needed.Everything went in fine... plenty of space available in the cavity.The stock knobs fit great.The included wiring diagram is correct.The pots are "audio" taper...I was hoping for a broader band of adjustment than the stock pots, but they roll on/off exactly the same.It actually does seem to sound better though.Buying from stew mac is a lower price plus their "shipping" charge.Buying from Amazon is the stew mac price plus stew mac's shipping charge.Stew mac gets the money either way, but with Amazon Prime shipping is faster.

Great kit, excellent choice of components and built quality makes it ideal to upgrade the factory fender controls. I also did the treble bleed mod, and combined with a pair of DiMarzio's Ultra Bass DP-149 my vintage '62 Jazz Bass became a monster!
