While this is my last resort for properly releasing a deepwater fish. In effort to hopefully prevent Barotrauma. This is a fine device when absolutely necessary. The guage is a little large but the point is more than sharp enough and 6 holes in the tool should make the task a fast as possible, I will probably put it in the drill press and add two more closer to the tip. (For just cause). If harvesting the fish this should also be a fine ikejime tool minus the fine wire of course.

This is a very sharp spike. Metal is very sturdy. Neat to be able to screw in one side into the other to protect the point. Screws on the end for a pen like spike, or into the handle as a T like spike. Good quality, easy to use.
