This is one stunning cartridge for a price. I have played around 150 hours on both of my dd turntables (Audio Technica 140 the one without built in ore amp and Stanton str8-150 with s shaped arm) and then it was swapped to my belt drive turntable Michell Gyrodec SE and on this one I've added another 100 hours? Played on hybrid preamp and tube and solid state. This cartridge just keeps giving. Imo? Better than 2m blue. I need to try it against 2m bronze. You should buy it as in mm cartridges up to 200£ quid you can't get much better nude eliptical cartridges.

Not completely broken in but this is a great sounding cartridge, very easy to set up, and tracks superbly. I think this is likely among the best at its price.

I use the Goldring E4 on my Lenco L75 turntable which feeds a Musical Surroundings Nova 2 phono preamp into a Linear Tube integrated amp. Such a balanced sound that gives every instrument the correct tone and impact. I have had 3 or 4 $1200 to 2000 cartridges on my Roksan Xerxes 10 turntable that did not sound any better. The E4 will perform well on good systems.

This Goldring cartridge is fantastic! The sound difference is really noticeable; allowing my old ears to hear instruments that I never knew where present. At £169, this is great value for money, as this baby punched well above its weight. It can handle the high and low frequencies with ease.If you a beginner in the wonderful world of hi-fi, this is an excellent upgrade from the one supplied with the record deck.10/10.
