Definitely feels better built than other brands I have tried. The unique jaw design really is easier to get into the mouth of the fish

Got this gripper for my brother, who fishes a heck of a lot more than I do & could really make use of all the features of this beast. This is a very well made & high quality gripper...it just looks fantastic. The handle is real comfortable & makes for a good grip, even when wet. The gripper jaws work flawless & hold tight & the scale seems to be pretty accurate. It arrives in a nice box & is very giftable. This has got to be the best, most durable gripper I’ve ever had the pleasure of using & I highly recommend it!

Having been chasing trophy catfish for a decade, I've owned and broken many grippers. There's a few things that stand out about this gripper from Gomexus. The machining and general quality of the unit instantly lets you know you're really dealing with a quality, professional level tool. Kind of like picking up a $2 ratchet vs. a $50 Snapon--you know what I mean?Having an integrated, reasonably accurate scale, good for up to about 40lbs is very convenient, just to get a good idea of the general weight of the fish. Most integrated scales don't register past about 15lb. So 40 is exceptional. For tournaments I'll have to still use a good quality digital scale. But, I don't tend to weigh many of the DINKS anyways, right? Once you've caught a hundred 10lbers, you don't really make effort to weigh them anymore. So, this is a nice add-on for keeping track of the dinks. There is a small spot on the end of the handle to attach a very thin lanyard, which is ABSOLUTELY critical and not a super great design on this unit. The space to attach a lanyard is very tight. Why a lanyard? Do you really want your $50 grippers at the bottom of the lake/river? In a kayak, it's only a matter of time before everything falls off the boat.I am worried though, that if I take this gripper onto the buddy's party barge, that the grippers will somehow turn up missing---that's how nice these are! Just Kidding, my buddies wouldn't steal this from me! They lie all the time about their fish catching prowess, but they're not thieves.

I got this for my husband for when he was taking the kids out fishing some weekends over the summer. They didn't always catch much, but the kids has fun seeing how big their fish was before throwing it back, and it was kind of a game to see who had the biggest that day. He said it was easy to use and seemed about accurate enough for getting a quick idea, even if the number fluctuated a little.

This is one of the better made lip grips I've used. It's hefty, well machined, and looks good. The jaw action is smooth and easy to open but is near impossible to force open from the jaw side, keeping a tight hold on fish. The little nub on the tip is a nice addition to get it in tightly closed mouths. While it works great as a fish grip, the built in scale is a bit more lackluster. First of all, you can hear the creaky spring in the handle every time it is compressed. You can't lock the handle so that it doesn't extend every time you put weight on it. The spring is strong, but only up to 40 lbs so it does have a somewhat limited range for fish, particularly since you can barely see any numbers for fish less than 10~15 lbs on the scale. Secondly, the scale is inaccurate and easily changes. The end of the handle rotates, which seems to adjust the tension of the spring so the reading will be different. There's no uniform way to calibrate it except by using a fixed weight of at least 20 lbs. Even with a 20 lb dumbbell, I had a hard time calibrating it and it just ends up off again from a few twists. I had readings from 16 lb to 23 lbs just from 3 or 4 twists of the endcap, and you obviously want accurate fish weights if you're bothering to measure. I would stick with a dedicated digital scale if you want to measure fish weight. I wish there was some way to lock the handle in place or get rid of the scale completely, as otherwise it's a great lip grip.

This scale seems to be of good quality. Unfortunately I got it towards the end of the season so there wasn't much time to get use out of it, but so far it is doing well.
