It is sturdy and sharp. But the small baller on the other end can be dangerous while using the big baller if not careful.

I've used this a few times and the metal is bending when I scoop out the apple center. Doesn't look cheap but it certainly is. Disappointed!

I use it to scoop out cantaloupe balls instead of cutting it up into chunks. You have to be careful how you hold it though, because the other end that's meant to take out strawberry or tomato hulls can be kind of sharp.
