A spacious container, ideal for both water collection and use as a temporary water tank.

we set this barrel on a concrete slab and the first time rain leaked from the bottom. Not happy with this product. Very poor construction.

The rain barrel was pretty much as I expected and didn't have any defects. The soft sided design though is not the most convenient. Without any water in it the sides flop down which makes it hard to direct your rainwater into the top. It's a good temporary alternative to one of the hard sided barrels.

I needed a rain barrel for my Attic. Thus great to have a collapsible and light-weight barrel for the job.Assembling was a bit more onerous than necessary because the instruction drawings are of poor quality and difficult to interpret. It does work well, as tested after a recent storm that quickly filled the barrel and allowed me access the water to irrigate the vegetable garden I created.I can't tell how long it will last, but it seems well built.

The product was tightly folded up in the box and the stiff green plastic had tiny holes and cracks where it was folded. . Water came right through.

Seemed to work very well initially. However, the ground it was on wasn’t perfectly level and solid. I live on a fairly steep hill. Once it filled up after a big storm, the ground gave out on one side, the ‘leg’ sunk into the ground, and it toppled over. From that point, the top zipper was busted and I tossed it out.I cannot give 5 stars, but I also cannot fault the product for my bad install, and I am sure it would hold up well with solid, level ground under it.

Earlier I said the drain valve had female 1/2 NPT threads. On review, I'm not sure what the thread is. Thread i.d. is about 0.94 inch. Pitch is 14 threads per inch. In any case, it doesn't thread onto a garden hose.

The barrels are of reasonable quality and appear to hold up as long as you don't abuse them. My gripe is that what accessories you get are not what you see in their pictures or even the instruction manual provided. Customer service is slow to respond, then they repeatedly ignore your questions and issues, while sending another copy of the instructions hoping you'll go away, as opposed to helping solve the problems. I'm keeping them but will have to spend considerable money to get the matching parts as seen in their photos, for the use they show in the photos.

It is fairly easy to assemble. You need a solid surface to sit it on. So plan on an additional cost for that depending what location you’re putting it in. If you plan on attaching a hose to the spigot, you will need to purchase a quick connector. And it leaks around that spigot so plan on buying plumbers goop to fix that. I purchased this to set up an automatic watering system for my garden while on vacation. I have yet to set it up because of the above problems. It seems that once it is set up it will serve it’s purpose. It holds plenty of water and should last for the purpose as long as there are no leaks. One of the supports bent once it was filled with water but does not affect the container from holding water without collapsing, time will tell how long though.UPDATE: You can attach a hose or in my case, a timer, without buying fittings. See my attached photos. The spigot can be uncrewed at the nipple part and then simply screw in whatever you’re using, in my case a timer.

Alot of people seemed to whine and complain about this product and because of that I was hesitant to purchase it.. maybe that just because that's what the internet is. Easy to assemble, its sturdy and it's been great so far. The only thing I have a issue with, and even saying issue is way to harsh is that that plastic nozzle is a little tough to turn to release the water. Great product, I would reccomend it.

I bought this item when our water was turned off for repairs, and found it helpful for non-potable water that I use to wash my floors and clothes. We have hard water here, which doesn't work well to clean things. The barrel needs to be put on a stable surface, so I used bricks and 2x4s to make one. It also need to be raised so that the spigot (near the bottom) has clearance enough for you to put a bucket under it.It will not be entirely sturdy until it is full of water. Place it in a spot under your roof where the water falls a lot during rains, and it will fill quickly.Watch out, though -it also has an overflow valve. When it gets full, water will pour from that valve. If you have a bucket, or another barrel, you could put it next to it, and not lose any water.I have had mine outside for 6 months, and it is still working beautifully. It's great for watering for your plants, too, since it has no chloride or flouride in it.If you plan to use this for potable water, you shoould not use water from your roof, unless it is tin or ceramic. Asphalt, like mine has too much gravel and tar in it to drink. Even then, you MUST boil the water before drinking. Bird poop and insect larvae will be present if you do not.One more thing: the spigot at the bottom is small, but can be hooked to a hose for wstering your garden. It also has a screen to filter the water of insects and other debris. The top can be unzipped to allow you to scoop water from it, and has a mosqito/debris screen on top.
