I have had this brand of water sensors but an older model. I decided to upgrade because these have longer battery life, and there are more sensors in this unit. I have found these very useful! I have them all over in a variety of areas that could leak or get wet. I have been warned twice in the past by devices like these when my washing machine sprung a leak. It helped mitigate more damage. I tested these when I set them up, and they react to a very small amount of water. Just a drop, even on top, will set them off. The alarm is quite loud. You will get an alert on your device as well. I am quite happy with this set and am glad I can monitor more areas now.

This is my second Govee Home unit for water leak detection. I bought this upgraded version and it doesn't disappoint. The unit is base with five water detectors that connect to your home's network (wifi). You must start up each detector and connect it to the base. The Govee app is a bit confusing with alot of options that are redundant and unnecessary, but the actual detection alert system is very effective. The batteries are already equipped in each detector. I had a hard time figuring that out. The batteries do not come out, so I am not sure what to do when the battery power is low. Govee says the batteries will last up to 5 years, so we will see with that. The probes on the bottom of the detectors are super sensitive. You can lick them and they will sound the alarm. To shut it off, simply wipe it clean to dry.The instructions are small and not clear, but since this is my second unit, I was familiar with set up. The set up will take about 10 minutes. Find the spots in your house that you want water leak notifications: bathroom sinks, washer, water pump, or any plumbing. You will hear a "siren" sound and you will get a notification your phone. There is also a option to receive an email. Overall, as a homeowner these devices are awesome to prevent full-scale damage to your property. I highly recommend.

As a Govee user, setting these up was quick and seamless with the app. The sensors have a strong monitoring range and send reliable alerts via email and app notifications. Perfect for placing in laundry rooms, under sinks, or around appliances that could leak. The peace of mind they provide is well worth it, and they integrate smoothly with other Govee products.

These water detectors were simple to configure and function exactly as advertised. The accompanying app interface is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through various features. Additionally, I have Govee RGB lighting, and I appreciate that all these devices integrate seamlessly on a single platform, allowing for convenient control. A couple of years ago I had a burst water pipe in my house, but luckily it was in the ceiling above my garage.I got to it fairly quickly, but a bunch of the ceiling drywall had to be replaced. If that had happened in the house itself, I would have a very costly repair going on. Having these leak sensors around the house gives great peace of mind.Set up was really easy. I positioned the main hub centrally in my (large) house, and downloaded the app onto my phone. I had to make an account, and then I added the hub and sensors. It was really quick and easy.The sensors already have the batteries installed, and they are supposed to last 5 years. They are pretty small and easily stashed away in my bathrooms. I tested the contacts by holding my fingers against the contacts. This produced an ear piercing alarm, and also sent a text to my phone with a leak warning. My sensors are spread out among my house, and have a strong signal, according to the app.I’m very pleased with this system, and it makes me happy knowing that I have at least some leak monitoring going on in my house.

Initially, I was somewhat skeptical about the necessity of a smart water leak detector. However, the promise of a 5-year battery life and the advertised long-range connectivity ultimately swayed me to give it a try. I'm pleased to report that the setup process was surprisingly straightforward, and the accompanying app is intuitive and easy to navigate. The ability to adjust the alarm volume is a thoughtful feature, allowing me to customize the alerts based on the time of day and my personal preferences. The "Find Device" feature is also surprisingly useful, saving me time and frustration when I've misplaced a sensor. While I haven't experienced any actual leaks since installing the detectors (thankfully!), I feel significantly more confident knowing that my home is protected. The long battery life is a major selling point, as it eliminates the need for frequent battery replacements. The only minor inconvenience I encountered was during the initial pairing process, which required a bit of troubleshooting. However, once the sensors were successfully paired, they have performed flawlessly. Overall, I consider this smart water leak detector a practical and dependable home protection solution. It offers long-lasting reliability and a user-friendly design, making it a worthwhile investment for any homeowner.

Got this to help with water detection in the attic and under the sink. They work great and will allow me to have peace of mind knowing I will be alerted to any leaks. There are 5 detectors and a main unit. Recommend.
