The PS5 m.2 heatsink is simple to put together and install but the documentation is lacking. As an amateur, it wasn't clear how the bottom bracket, heat pads, NVMe SSD, and heatsink aligned - the instructions only showed the order of installation and a diagram of everything stacked on top of one another. After some testing without the heat pads to see how everything fit together and how they sat in the PS5 storage expansion slot, the installation process went smoothly. It's a good idea to take a look at the side profile of the SSD to see how to maximize coverage of the chips with the heat pads.A few things of note;- The heat pads are very thin and soft and it's easy to nick off a corner when peeling off the plastic backing. It's easier to position and stick a heat pad by peeling a quarter or half of the backing before peeling off the rest of the backing. The adhesive on the heat pads isn't very strong which is probably by design but that means the SSD won't always stay in position when pushing the heatsink onto the bracket and some fine tuning is needed.- It'd be easier if the heatsink and bracket were held together with screws rather than pushed together and held together by force and friction. Tip - pull one side (A) of the bracket, tip heatsink and its notches into the other side (B) of the bracket, lower the heatsink, and release side (A) to lock the heatsink into place.- The cutout in the bracket sits against the included m.2 standoff (wraps one half of it) and doesn't sit on top of it. The cutout in the SSD board sits on top of the m.2 standoff. The included screw is too long for the "new" PS5 slim console. The silicon dust covers for unused ports fit fine but are difficult to insert. If the inner edges of these silicon caps were tapered to fit into the ports, they'd probably be easier to insert into place.
