Gotta love a potent laser pointer. This is definitely stronger than the little button battery pointers you can get for a couple bucks on the junk shelf at your local DG. It's so bright that it's almost hard to look at when you shine it on a white surface. The beam generates a little heat too -- you'll feel it on your hand after a couple seconds. The included prism attachment definitely makes the laser more fun, but doesn't really add functionality beyond just being fun. I've been using it for several days to play with the cats, and it's still on the original factory charge (oh yeah, it's USB rechargeable!). Overall a very potent green laser that's fun for play and will shoot a loooong way in the dark.

The device works great. The best place to get the information on how to use it is here online, not much information in the box. Getting the cap off for a solid beam is a little difficult, but once you figure it out you should be good.

I am impressed with how bright this laser is. It also comes with a lens that really displays the light into a star burst. If you remove the star burst lens, you get a solid beam that shines for over 1 mile. I used my binoculars and could see the green dot on a radio tower that is about 1 mile away. if the conditions are good, you can actually see the path of the beam. I also love that it's rechargeable instead of having to buy batteries.

This laser pointer is very bright and you can even see the spot in daylight. The removable cap splits the beam into hundreds of dimmer beams for an interesting starfield pattern.

This is one of several identical laser pointers from China, and at less than $15 currently, this is one of the cheapest. It works well, can point at stars, and is very bright. I can see the beam in the day, and after playing with it for a little while, I haven't noticed any drop in brightness. The star cap is also fun. Just make sure you don't point this into anyone's eye. It is very powerful. I would not use this as a pet toy. It bounces off even slightly reflective surfaces like tile and wood floor. To the contrary, if you want this to light a match or pop a balloon, you'll need to look outside of Amazon.
