Worked for my purpose. When the bit encounters resistance this thing twists a lot! Almost a full turn! I worry that it might break, but I've hit a few nails which caused it to twist hard and it held up so far.

Normally I love Greenlee products, I consider them to be very high quality tools, but I was disappointed with this piece. Once you have it set in the wall, if you put any push behind it at all, it bends, twists and jumps the drill bit out of the intended starting point. If you push only lightly enough to keep it from bending and jumping, it takes hours to drill the hole. In the compromise between making the piece flexible to go around tight places and strong enough to transmit force to the drill bit, this piece was designed with too much flexibility and not enough force transmission. I find little use in being able to make it fit if I can't use it once I've gotten it into the wall.Bottom line, I still ended up cutting holes in drywall for access after trying to use this, so it's a waste of money in my book.

I asked a lot of people about how to run electrical wire across joists without cutting holes in the drywall. Most people told me it couldn't be done but the few that did told me to order a couple of these extensions. When they arrived, I used the extensions to drill the holes and run the wire easier and faster than I thought it would be done. I was very happy with the results.There are caveats when you do this but I knew there were no electrical lines or air vents running through the area. This product saved me a lot of time and effort.
