I was really looking forward to using this torch on my reverse seared tri-tip. I got my Coleman butane tank out, and after carefully reading the instructions for the torch, proceeded to try to screw the torch to the tank. Or the tank to the torch. Counterclockwise, as they suggest.Well, I tried and I tried and I tried, but for the life of me, I could not get the tank screwed to the gun, counterclockwise or clockwise. And I could not get the gun screwed onto the tank, in either clock direction either. I was in a hurry. The meat was ready. I had guests. So I used my Flame King torch.I’ve been using that torch for over a year, but it doesn’t have the two screens on the end to diffuse the flames and take away whatever propane flavor the gas might bring to the party. All chefs recommend it. That’s why I thought this Violezza gun would be the answer to my torch problems. But I really don’t know if the Violezza has any screens at all.Anyway…I spent the next day trying to screw the propane and the torch to each other. I’d literally turn the tank 30 times (I was counting), then I’d pick up the gun and the tank would come off. So I finally gave it to my husband. He tried 3-4 times, screwing tank and gun in every direction possible, and he couldn’t do it. I was about to just pack up this torch when he said, leave it with me for a while.I went to do other stuff, and finally my husband came into the kitchen in a cloud of smelly propane. He’d finally screwed the tank onto the torch and turned the torch on. I didn’t see it, but he said it was the Violezza was a ‘flame-thrower.’The whole time my husband was talking, I could smell the propane. I put my nose to the torch, and it was obviously leaking gas. My husband may have screwed the torch to the propane tank, but the connection was not secure. It was leaking gas.I wanted nothing more to do with this gun. My husband unscrewed the two parts apart and handed them to me. I put the torch back in its box, and I put my propane tank back in the cupboard. This torch may look high-end, but it’s dross. And by dross, I mean garbage. But what I really mean is a word I can’t say on Amazon.

This works as intended, connection to a fuel cannister was easy and it ignites and gives a decent flame to use for starting charcoal or a fire pit easily. I couldn't tell if it was shaped like a gun because of ease of use, or as a gimmick/joke, but it works fine and when I brought it out I got some great double-takes on what the heck I was doing.Slightly unwieldly to use with the cannister attached, but good portable flame. Stand works good to keep it from laying down and burning a surface.

They rebranded with a new name, but it's the same product. Leaks propane, and the regulator doesn't work. EXTREMELY UNSAFE
