  • Made in the USA
  • GRASS GROWING SOLUTION: Growtrax Grass Seed fabric contains Seed, Fertilizer and Mulch in one easy to use ‘roll out’ growing system. "Every Seed Perfectly Placed" at over 100% of its recommended planting rate. Each Growtrax Grass Seed roll contains the latest in grass growing technology, inclusive of high-quality seed from leading Oregon growers.
  • WHEN TO PLANT: For best results use GROWTRAX anytime temperatures in your area are consistently above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Fall planting or repairs should be completed six to eight weeks prior to temperatures dropping below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Do Not Lay during periods of strong winds or approaching heavy rains.
  • BIODEGRADABLE GRASS SEED MAT: Once rolled out and watered, our specialized grass roll sticks to the ground. Each seed is surrounded by fertilizer and held in place between two bio fabric layers, Growtrax Micro Pellet Fertilizer produces fast germination and uniform growth. The biodegradable fabric prevents seeds from washing away making it cheaper, easier to apply, and lighter than expensive traditional sod.
  • GROWTRAX ROLL: Our product is super lightweight and easy to roll out or cut into patches to fix damaged areas or to grow entire new lawns. Our Grass Seed Roll grows fast and ‘thickens-up’ for an attractive durable lawn.
  • PERFECT FOR SUN, semi-SHADE and SLOPES: Designed for full sun and light or semi shade conditions, Growtrax has fine bladed texture and medium to high drought resistance. Each Bio roll contains only the highest quality, certified weed free, award-winning Oregon seed.

  • GrowTrax uses a propriety seed blends custom designed to grow in all climates. Our GrowTrax Blue Rye is great for cold climates. The GrowTrax Tall Fescue is good for "Cool/Moderate" climates. Bermuda is great for hot or extremely hot temperatures.

  • Yes! Don't lay GrowTrax in windy conditions. Choose calm days, or pre-water in windy areas for better stick. Add soil on the wind-facing edge of GrowTrax to prevent lift, allowing grass to grow through.

  • Not all grass seed is created equal, the quality of the actual seed is reflective in the quality of the grass to be grown; GrowTra only uses premium certified weed free Oregon seed.

  • GrowTrax is safe for pets because it`s real grass. We recommend keeping pets off the GrowTrax until the grass has grown 3 inches. If pets will be outside, we recommend sectioning off an area for GrowTrax and an area for pets to play.

Do not waste your money. I put seeds next to this roll. The seeds have all germinated and nothing on this roll, an absolute waste of money

I cleared my median of weeds and rolled this on the soil. I watered it daily for three days, but then we had hard rain for two days. I really thought all was lost after that, because I was sure that the seeds had been washed away. I kept watering it after the rain stopped though, and within 14 days I started to see grass. Within 5 weeks of the initial planting date, I saw lush, full grass. I am now at the 8 week mark and it's time for a trim. Very good product!!

The mat dissolved a few days after i started watering it, leaving the area as bald as it was when i started. There’s been no new grass growth. The poor results might be due to a problem i’m having with mushrooms growing off the remnants of a tree that was removed from the area.

I was surprised at how thin this mat really was. I followed the directions and you can see it's prepped and ready to hopefully grow grass in my yard. It is very delicate as just touching the mat when it's wet rips it. After reading the other reviews, I'm glad I purchased netting to put on top of it to hold it down. It's going to rain soon so I'm hoping the rain doesn't destroy the mat as it hits it and so far the squirrels haven't gotten into it either. I will post an update on how it all works out. *UPDATE -- look how well it grew!! Very happy with this product. You do need to water it well, which I did twice a day to keep the mat wet. I recommend this product.

I've tried tons of different seed in my front yard and it all seems to wash away before it gets a chance to get rooted in. This stuff is great! it sticks right where you put it and stays until the grass comes up. So far its growing great. I'll definitely be buying the bigger roll to finish my whole yard now that I know it works!

It does grow in a bit patchy but with a little Sun and Shade seed added to the grass after about 4 weeks of watering 3 times a day. My Grass looks just amazing. So I believed in the product so I bought 400 Square Feet of it and laid it down. But things are awesome and my grass is looking fantastic and Healthy.

I read many of the reviews and with so much positive and of course some negative, I decided to give it a try. I laid multiple strips over bare dirt. I watered regularly and hoped for the best. After about 4 weeks there was absolutely no change. I wondered if there were any seeds in the mat. I did not bother to shred it to find out. I just gave up. Perhaps i did something wrong but simply do not know. I have most of the roll remaining as I was testing in on about 10 square feet of area.It is about a year since I wrote the above review. I decided to give this product another chance so I cleared and prepared about a 3 foot square area. I made sure it was well watered. Now after about 2-3 months you can see the results in the pictures. While there is some grass growth this time, most of the area shows no growth or vey sparse growth. The pictures are not great as there are a lot of pine needles over the grass due to some strong wind. However, I think you can get the idea. I loved the potential of this product but found it pretty useless. As an experiment, I seeded another section of the lawn with traditional seed and watered in the same way. While I did not attach a picture that area shows lush lawn growth.Bottom line, for me, this product simply did not live up to expectations.

I covered my whole yard in this stuff based upon a successful trial with a smaller area. The main thing to know is that if you are in a windy area, you are going to be babysitting and repositioning this stuff daily until it sprouts. Any serious wind and it becomes a kite and blows all over. If you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and keeping it damp, you then have to be extremely careful to get it back in position without destroying it, as it basically loses all structural integrity when it is wet, and walking on it will also destroy or put holes in it if the underlying soil is soft, so it is really a challenge to keep it in position. Overall, to do it again, and even now as I stare at my rolls which overnight were blown all over the yard - about 2000 sqft or over 700 dollars of material - I would just cover it all in a half inch of topsoil. This will keep birds from eating it, make it germinate and grow more quickly, and retain water a bit better so it would not require multiple waterings per day to stay damp. If you cover it with a bit of dirt, and keep it moist, you will have excellent results. Otherwise, just buy some sod and be done with it. I mean, it is really a sort of disaster when you wake up at 5am and look at your yard and have a bunch of stuff to do before work and you realize that you have to get out there and do an hour of grass seed roll repositioning and rehabilitation or your $3000 lawn project is going to look like hammered feces. These people really did not think through what any sort of wind at all will do to an installation without some sort of soil holding it down. Kind of a major oversight. I support US businesses and this is made in Santa Barbara, but come ON guys! You are seriously sinking my battleship over here. Get with the program and tell people how to make this stuff work. Topsoil, topsoil, topsoil. The turf is really nice once it gets going, but this is ridiculous.
