The Nano vault meets TSA airline firearm guidelines and fits discreetly in a bag briefcase desk or under a vehicle seat. The Nano vault features an easy-to-operate key lock system 20-gauge steel construction and 1/2-inch per side thick memory foam interior. Each unit is standard. When the cable is wrapped around any fixed object and slid over the lock receiver inside the security box both the Nano vault and any valuables will be securely attached. Instructions:
1. Factory set combination is “000”.
2. Set lock knob in horizontal (open) postition.
3. Move the combination set switch from “A” to “B” on back plate of the lock.
4. Use three combination number wheels to set combination.
5. Turn the knob from horizontaL (open) position to vertical (locked) position.
6. Return the combination set šwitch from “B to “A”.
7. New combination ¡s now set.

Great little safe for under the seat of your car. I bought this to install into my Jetta (where the 6 disk changer in the trunk would have lived) in case I need to secure my Glock 30 in the car. I also have a stack-on brand version that I bought locally which lives under the bench seat of my F150. These safes are perfect for securing firearms, valuables or cash (for you delivery folks). If you want to permanently affix the safe to a surface, there are pre-drilled holes for screws or bolts, which is nice. A few tek screws and it's secured.This is exceptionally similar, almost identical to the stack-on brand's offering, of which I have one. The minute things that makes me like this one better than stack-on is the finish and the numerical dials. The rough black powder coat finish feels more durable than the flat regular paint used on stack-on's and the numerical dials on this safe are black with white painted engraved numbers which are easier to see than the simply bright steel engraved dials of the stack-on version. Make no mistake; they have identical locks, hinges, design and dimensions. The coatings are different, the branding is different and the orientation of the lock mechanism is different, but I am fond of the GunVault version. Either will serve you well however.

For less than $30 getting such an easy to use, compact, rugged, and portable safe is amazing. By no means the best or most secure safe you'll get, but it's got to be close for the money! The simplicity of how to secure it to something so the safe itself can't be stolen is what really sold me, as it can be kept locked under (and secured to) my bed, always w/in reach, but if I want to transport the firearm and be able to leave it in a locked vehicle all I need to do is open it, remove the cable, then go to the car, wrap the cable around something solid (like the base of a front seat), secure it in the safe, then close and lock the safe and that's that.Absolutely worth the money, and I'd absolutely recommend to a friend.

I bought two of these. One works perfectly, but the other is defective and I've sent it back. I would've given the product four stars if not for the defective one, but I do get a feeling that these have an inconsistent build quality, and three stars is the max for that kind of situation.It's a good and useful lock-box. It's large enough to hold a compact or subcompact handgun (for instance, a Glock 26 or 19, but not a 17), plus a spare clip. It could also be used to store some cash, a passport, etc. Yet it is compact enough to toss in a small drawer or store under a car seat. In addition, it comes with a cable to secure it to anything you can wrap a cable around, such as a car seat mechanism. It is not a "high security" safe; honestly, anyone with a screwdriver or a hammer could probably get inside this thing in a couple of minutes. But it will generally keep out prying eyes, and would be enough of a pain in the ass to open such that some punk stealing loose change and CDs out of cars at a mall probably wouldn't bother with it. Understand, though, that any determined thief would be able to make short shrift of it.The combination lock is not the easiest thing to use, which makes it useless as a quick-access gun safe. If you think you might need immediate access to a firearm, this is not the safe for you. This one is more about very basic security of a weapon for transport purposes, or perhaps for short-term bedroom storage. In the home, it absolutely does not replace a real gun safe. If it sounds like I'm being negative about the safe, actually, I'm not. It just depends on what the application is. For temporary securing of a firearm in the car when going into a location where concealed carry is not permitted: great. For keeping a gun secured from curious kids: dangerous, and there are better options. So it all depends. It certainly seems like a lot of product for the extremely low cost.

Fits my Ruger Speed six with 2 3/4 barrel. That's a stocky .357 revolver. I think a 4" barrel might fit, but it would be pushing it. I can keep a couple speed loaders and still have room for my wallet. I thought about fitting in my J Frame besides, but there's not room for a couple guns unless they're .380 compacts.Has 3 wheels in combo lock. Good for daylight and non hurry opening. I wanted one for bedside and this one can work well that way too. But with a different approach.I set the combo to open, then turn the easy to grasp opening knob a quarter turn. That stops the combo wheels from moving, keeps the safe still closed tight and makes it possible for me to just turn the knob the remaining 3/4 turn to open it. No fumbling in the dark or trying to think I could wake up and find any combo at all in the dark. Then in AM, I just turn the knob back the 1/4 turn and spin the combo wheels. Takes 2 seconds and I have a good routine of making sure so it's secured all day.I can easily take it with me on trips and it's very versatile. It's not a bank vault. But it's actually pretty solid construction, good gauge steel and a secure cable. It's meant to keep curious hands out and stop opportunists from snatching things. Perfect for that.
