I have taken this on over 20 flights (I have it in a hard pelican like case that I check with luggage) and driven with it all over the US and Canada. I can’t say enough good things about it, I get excellent dynamic shots (I use it mostly for a 2nd camera for interviews or product shots) and it has worked with multiple cameras over the years, currently I am using it with blackmagic 6K. It is extremely rugged but finally the leg broke mostly because of how I had it sitting in the hard case on a long flight from Australia to the US. I called GVM spoke with Zoe, and immediately offered to send a replacement leg (even though it is well out of warranty!).A couple additional things to add is it really can support a lot of weight, and I really like the control box (vs an app), you can plug in, quickly setup the parameters, and your off and running, simple and fast with no issues in fast paced environments.

This is not bad for $200. The slider itself has a high quality feel to it, and it's very quiet and smooth. The control box works, but is made of cheap plastic, but I guess they had to cut a corner somewhere. Also, they don't really explain how the Auto-Loop works in the instructions. You have to set the Start and Stop points in the settings first, and then it will loop infinitely between the two points. Also, don't turn off the unit after you set the in and out points, as they will erase and you'll have to set them again. But overall, an absolute steal for the money.

I found this product very helpful. I saw in a sponsored video of Reza in her YouTube channel and bought it. It looks like an economic option of great cinematic film making. Only thing I am little confused is too many wires as a bunch and needs some assemble time and focus. It can be straight forward by providing a preset product in the packaging would help someone with less patience and time.

I loved the 48" GVM motorized aluminum slider. When placed or mounted appropriately, you'll get a nice smooth shot with this slider, using either panning or parallax mode, even with subjects as close as three or four feet away. The rotating panning head has very little looseness or "play" and the result is jitter- and jerk-free footage. The construction and build quality of this GVM slider are pretty good overall, and certainly excellent considering the cost. This relatively inexpensive slider is not perfect. The aluminum body and panning guide rod of this slider are more rigid and substantial than the carbon fiber sliders and the result is a smoother shot. However, aluminum is heavier than carbon and with a 48" slider, that is something to be considered. If you are looking for a slider to use while travelling, you probably don't want a 48 inch aluminum slider. And while 48 inches gives you more options for your films or video, it is an unwieldy length to carry around. The remote is attached via cable, and controls and powers the slider. A real Bluetooth or Wifi remote would have been far more convenient. The remote (and slider) also does not remember settings from one session to the next, so you need to set the start and end points of the slider each time you turn it on. The basic controls are not completely intuitive, but once you've figured them out, it isn't too tricky to get the slider going. There are a number of useful modes and the slider has a variety of speeds, ranging from incredibly slow to slow-medium. The motor can be audible at the highest speed, but an external microphone should easily remedy any such issues.Bottom line - this slider will allow you to have very smooth panning and parallax footage. You are able to achieve a level of precision with this slider - even at three or four feet - that is not as easily achievable in similarly priced carbon fiber sliders. Many of the drawbacks in the slider are similar in almost any of the other sliders at this price point. If you are looking at this price range and you want decent looking footage, the GVM 48" slider is a good bet.

So many settings and features all working in perfect sync and harmony how can you go wrong? Even as an amateur i was easily able to follow and navigate the easy to use instructions switching from time-lapse shooting, video shooting and then auto round trip shooting. You can set the sliding speed, the sliding distance, pause time, number of pictures, and the set start and end point all from the palm of your hand with the easy to use controller. The motorised slider is made of aluminum alloy, that makes it incredibly stable and anti-shake. Making it a breeze to provide stable video and clear pictures. Both sides of the slider have adjustable legs, which you can adjust the height and angle for three perfect shots everytime. Easily set up and put away in the conveniently included and high quality carry bag.The camera slider fits basically everything from my dslr camera, to my regular video camera, and even my cellphone! Multiple 1/4” and 3/8” screw holes on both sides and middle, so again super adjustable and compatible with a wide range of uses and settings. From wedding videography to perfect photo shoot shots to home movies, even school pictures and video for our YouTube channel this has been amazing and exceeded every expectation!

I absolutely loved this slider for the month that I've had it. The instructions were a little vague, and the remote looks like a piece of tech from the 90s, but it was an incredible value for what I paid for it. BUT, in less than a month of use, my remote is completely broken. It started with glitches on the screen, then the screen went full "Matrix", then completely blank. Without use of the remote, the entire slider is useless. Hopefully they remedy this and send me a new remote, then I'll update my review and increase the rating. But until then, spend your money elsewhere!
