At first glance this looks very nice, until you look a bit closer. The main head is heavy with metal components. However, the knob that screws in to help hold it in place is plastic with a metal tip. The handle for the suction base is also plastic. Both have a metallic coating giving the "look" of metal, but they are not. I for see one or both breaking in the future from basic use. The base and handle are also plastic. As for it's function, it does what you expect and does have a setting knob. I am just not confident on it's long term hold up to use. But for someone just getting into pasta making this could be a good starter unit.

This has been working nicely for making my own homemade pasta and it's easy to clean too. So far, it seems well made and it's a breeze to use.

Some things I want to say right away. This pasta machine makes for easy cutting, even pressing, and has great adjustment settings. The suction cup is very powerful and should work on most kitchen surfaces. Tbh I could never find it in me to buy an expensive pasta maker. I just don't have the experience and I'm afraid i wouldn't use it often enough to justify the prices. This machine meets me halfway. I can feel good spending this amount knowing I can use this to get more comfortable and if needed eventually move on to a heavier metal pasta maker. That being said, we know how plastic is. Longevity is the only issue with this machine. It does flex a bit when handling and I wonder if it's going to bust on me. But so far it's been a great lesson. I love the tips included with the recipes. It's extremely easy to use and clean. I think it may be worth it for those just being comfortable with the process. I recommend for sure!

I've used the Marcato Atlas 150 for over 20 years and love it. This pasta maker is about half the price and quite nice to use. I like that you don't have to move the handle back and forth and the cutters are all attached and ready for use without switching things around. The suction cup worked perfectly on my countertop which is a smooth surface. It's great if you are interested in making lasagna, fettucine and spaghetti. It's a nice beginner machine to see if you like making your own pasta. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. If you want to branch out and make other pastas or ravioli, a pasta maker that can swap cutters may be the better bet. The only concern I have is the plastic stand. It flexes a bit and I'm not sure how long that part will hold up. It does take a while to get the hang of making the dough the right consistency. I use my bread maker to knead the dough. ;)

Decently build and good quality. It saves time and not a bad price for the value. Pretty lightweight as well

Save your money with this bad boy. Has saved us a ton of money on pasta. Easy to use, easy to clean. It even comes with tools to clean it. So far no rust but I do make sure to dry it completely after use. Doesn’t take up much space on the counter or in the cupboard. Works amazing, has different sizes and shapes you could make for basic pasta. Love love it.

This pieces together very easily. I followed one of the recipes in the book (however, substituted the OO flour for All Purpose and solmoun flour for bread flour, as that is what I had on hand) and everyone agreed it tasted just like regular noodles! It was super easy! It says to let the dough rest for 20 minutes; however, I had places to be, so I let it rest longer and again, no issues. It slides through the maker so easy, my 6 year old was helping me. I played around with the different noodle settings and am so in love with it, I may never buy noodles again for how easy this was!The clean up wasn't hard either. Let it fully dry and any dough in the maker will harden. Roll the machine and clean it with the brush provided. Very easy!

You can get all-metal versions of manual pasta makers for dirt cheap, so one with a plastic casing needs to have some standout features. I think this pasta maker does have some benefits that I would be willing to spend extra on.The extra height makes it easier to get nice long pasta strands without having to fold over on itself. That also means it's easier to transfer to a drying rack. Also, the plastic casing makes it easier to get quick, full access to clean the all-metal pressers inside. With my metal ones, I had to just use some sacrificial dough and hope that got all the dirt out. The handle is a lot more secure since it's built-in, compared to the peg design in most metal ones, which always slides out several times while using it. Everything else feels the same; It's easy to adjust thickness, presses evenly, and cuts well. The only things that I can see that might possibly be negative are the questionable longevity and the suction cup not being suitable for all work surfaces. The suction cup is very strong and I had no problems with it on my countertop, the same as the clamp design for my metal one. It wouldn't work well on wood surfaces.
