Instructions could've been more clear with my unit. The wires are different for a Goodman Heat pump split unit.Had to call a HVAC specialist to hook it up properly. The A/C wouldn't come on with my split unit and blow cold air.Once I did this though and it was only $65 visit we were good to go.

This is a very versatile thermostat that will work in a variety of applications. I bought mine to use with an electric heatpump and wanted to be able to adjust the temperature span so that the heatpump would start and run for a longer cycle period. This is much easier and more efficient for the compressor on a heatpump. Many modern thermostates only allow only a CPH (cycles per hour) adjustment that will not limit the on-off times of your heating unit, since the thermostat will prioritize the temperature setting over CPH. This thermostat allows adjustment of the on and off temperature up to 2 degrees on the high and low temp (span) on either the AC or Heating side. It is accurate and so far has worked flawlessly, a bargain compared to the Honeywell thermostat it replaced.

My heat pump is a two-stage aux heater, O is 0 volts for heat, and 24 volts for cool. Hooking up the thermostat easy enough, but the first thing I noticed was that it read the ambient temperature poorly. My 71-degree room was showing as 73 degrees. Okay, no problem, to test the heat I put the set point at 74 degrees - the Heat pump came on, but was pushing cold air. I gave it a while. I thought, perhaps this thing is backwards, so I tried the A/C after a while - it also pumped the same cold air. So I gave up, put the old thermostat back in and reheated my now cold house. Garbage. You get what you pay for - In my case, this would work for an A/C unit, but not for heat.

This is a excellent choice for a inexpensive heat pump thermostat, it took less than 10 minutes to install and it's your basic non prograble thermostat, for people that has trouble programming anything or who don't want a very expensive thermostat this is the one to buy, the price is excellent and it's a very good looking thermostat

This particular thermostat works I've been through at least three of them that have purchased in other places this is the first one that actually works it's accurate easy to install and it works comes on goes off like it's supposed to. The only reason that I gave it four stars is that it shows a pilot light which means heat I guess.. I was confused usually there's a sun for heat not a flame means gas to me. It does have the snowflake for cold. other than that it is perfect you just set the temperature and it works. I'm happy

I needed a good basic non-programmable thermostat for an elderly house member. This replaced a programmable thermostat which remained lit 24/7. The H721 met the need with easy to read and display light turns off after using the keypad. Wire terminals are clearly labeled and sturdy for tight connections compatible with our Rheem electric heat pump. Worked first time with no problems, easy install.
