Great stand! Easy to assemble. It’s just like the one my dad had when I was a kid. I like it because it’s vintage and sturdy. I would recommend wiping the stand down because it has an oily substance on it. I guess it’s protective for transport. It took longer than expected to arrive. However, I wasn’t in a rush to get it.

I bought this stand about a year ago and seldom have used it. About a few months and 1 performance later one of the plastic caps at the bottom of the stand started falling off, and then the next one, and then finally all of them came off. The top clamp for the stand also came off which prevented me from adjusting the height of the stand at all. If you are looking for a quality stand that will last I do not recommend this one.

It's a music stand, it holds music. And it does it's job really well.

Looks just as in the image. Easy to assemble and pull apart if no longer required. Light and sturdy enough for a folding stand. Recommended.

I am glad I went with this purchase. It is a GREAT value for something under 8 bucks. It comes in a nice vintage looking white box and its very easy to assemble! It does come with a light coat of oil so don't be surprised. You might think it is flimsy but it does the job just right. If you are rough on your instruments and stands I probably wouldn't suggest this one but I just keep my guitar method book on here and it does the job. When I am sitting on the bed or in a chair it can be lowered to the perfect height. One thing though I would improve is where the book holder attaches to the boom (or straight tube). It is not weak at this joint but the machining could be a bit better. Where it attaches there is a lot of give on mine and the sheet holder seems to have a hard time staying leveled. However when you put a book on it, it does not wobble at all. Nothing a little bit of soldering can't fix. If you are a traveling musician this is a must have. Its dirt cheap and gets you by, easily collapsible into nothing and looks great. I love the "hamilton no. ....." engravement on the stand, it makes it look very vintage! For those who are saying this is a bad stand I don't think you understand you are buying a STAND for under 8 bucks. You can barely buy anything with 8 bucks nowadays but this is just a steal! don't think twice, get it.

Such a great little portable stand! Now I have something decent to use when practicing violin or learning something new on the guitar reading tab, and when I'm done, all I have to do is fold it up and put it away! It does what it needs to do and should last if taken care of, considering the great low price there are probably more sturdy stands out there but if you're like me (a college student with no kids) and all you want is a nice portable stand, this is it!

I purchased this music stand as I needed something that was light and inexpensive. I was thrilled with the quality as well as how compactly it folds up.The music stand can be raised and lowered to different heights. It is very easy to assemble and fold up again. The stand holds music nicely and the chrome finish looks nice as well.

Basic music stand. Not much here. Folds pretty small. It doesn't lower as low as we were hoping, as we are using it for our 5 year old son who is just starting drum lessons.I don't see this lasting for years if you use it as a traveling stand. It will fold up small, and it is all metal. However, it's not that sturdy that I don't see this lasting more than a few years on the road. For our purpose, it works well enough, but it would have been better if it could lower a bit more.Pros:PriceLooks NiceHolds Music Books Open With Metal Page KeepersCons:Very LightweightNot DurableHeight Adjustment is Limited.

This is a very good stand for its price range, and well worth the purchase. The only thing is do not buy this if you plan on loading it with heavy music; it's relatively flimsy, but perfect for broke buyers who only need it for small-medium sheet music/books.

Let's make one thing clear from the start: This is a folding frame commonly known as a wire stand, and is used by traveling musicians. That means it's relatively delicate. Although I chose this stand as a gift after seeing how well an identical stand held up for more than twenty years, it's not the sort of stand you'd put together and leave up for practice. It will not take the abuse dished out by many budding musicians. If that's what you're looking for, you'd be better served by the type of stands used by school bands. But, if you're looking for a stand to take to competition, this one certainly deserves consideration. As with the older stand, this one has some heat discoloration where it was put together. To us (myself and the recipient), it didn't detract from the overall appearence. There was some slight scratches from the way it was packaged from the factory. It uses clamps instead of screw fittings to tighten the the stand, which is why I think the older stand held up so well. Whether the nickle finish will hold up better than chrome I can't say, I only know the older stand still had the finish intact.Be aware that this stand does not come with a case. I had to buy one separately. If you're wanting this for competition, be sure to get a case, as the cardboard box it comes it isn't the best way to carry it to events.Overall we're pleased with the stand. If it's not subjected to abuse, we expect it to last as long as the older stand.
