This is a well designed alternative to the Leica hood that comes with the camera, which a few extra benefits. Firstly it comes with a standard lens cap, which is much cheaper to replace if lost. Secondly it can be mounted reversed for storage, something not mentioned in the description. And finally it does it's main job of stopping stray light from hitting the front of the lens, causing flair. Overall I'm pleased with it.

Don’t what it is about a camera without a lens hood but they look naked or something. So why bother? And like everything else, they’ve gotten pricey-er.What do they actually do? A case could be made about blocking out extraneous light or maybe additional protection from the bumps and bangs that life serves up.OK. But the bottom line is: with one, your camera will look like it is owned by a discerning professional. This is a good one and it does all that stuff I talked about. So, buy one, you won’t regret it.

Certes l'objet à quelque chose de profane dans l'univers "leicaiste" mais ce cache aluminium s'intègre parfaitement à la ligne de l'appareil. Il fait bien son travail de pare-soleil, mais surtout me permet d'installer des filtres ND, ce qui n'est pas possible avec celui d'origine. Le bouchon est certes "plasticky" mais au moins il ne tombe pas et protège efficacement la lentille avant des poussières et autres rayures. Très bien.

I'm extremely satisfied with this lens hood, which I purchased for my Leica Q3 43. Unlike the rectangular hood that comes with the camera, this one allows the camera to sit level on a flat surface, preventing it from tipping forward due to the heavy lens. It also has the added benefit of enabling filter attachment without the need to remove the hood. The black finish is a perfect match with the camera, and there are no distracting logos or branding. I highly recommend this hood to fellow Q3 owners.

Ich habe die runde Gegenlichtblende für meine Q2 gekauft, damit ich auch einen 49 mm Polfilter nutzen kann. Die Gegenlichtblende ist sehr gut verarbeitet uns passt farblich und von der Oberflächenbeschaffenheit sehr gut zur Kamera. Durch die größere Öffnung von, im Gegensatz zum Original, lassen sich Filter jetzt wechseln, ohne die Gegenlichtblende vorher abnehmen zu müssen. Zwar kann man einen Polfiter nicht wie üblich mit seitlicher Berührung drehen, aber nun kommt man vorne sehr gut an seinen Rand, um ihn zu drehen und ohne dabei auf das Glas zu fassen. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Produkt.

I received the Haoge LH-LQ Metal Lens Hood Shade for my Leica Q and I must say that I am very impressed. It does what I indented it to do and that is to give my lens a little protection while allowing me to add ND filters. It’s not a Thorsten Von Overgaard Lens Shade but it works for a third of the price that I was lucky to fine.

Fits perfectly on my Q2. Threads on smoothly. It's low profile enough to not feel bulky yet seems to provide a reasonable amount of protection. I can easily change filters without having to remove it.
