This harmonic balancer installer tool works as it should, I have no idea why some people complaint about this tool as longs as you lubricate the threads you should be good to go, I used this to install a harmonic balancer on a 8.1 Vortec big block GM engine the only issue I have is that I have to use big and thick washers to be able to get the harmonic all the way in but other than that it works perfectly! This is the tool you think you don’t need but when you need it is worth it!

This thing worked like a charm. I put motor oil on all the threads. I used 2 wrenches to tighten the nose piece to the main shank to make sure its tight. May sure you oil your crank as well as the balancer well! Dumb if you don't. Then I thread the entire tool into there and back out 1/2 a turn. Then I just use my HAND to press in the balancer. Its smooth as butter....I got it in there like 95% of the way just by turning a 32MM socket on that big nut.... easy...A LOT less stress than getting your crank and balancer jammed....

This kit was everything I hoped it would be. We used it for a SBC. The tool is good quality and the case is above par.

Used on 3.5 v-6 for a 05 dodge magnum crank pulley. It was close to being fully extended and not reaching but once I got the pulley further on and worked like a charm. Very easy to use.

Installed my balancer great, but then there's no way to remove the bolt from the threaded end of the crank... When you go to back the tool off it just unscrews itself from the threaded end you put on it. If that threaded end had a small female torx head on it or something to help get it out of the crank after installation it would be much better. I had to tack weld a rod onto the insert them put vice grips on the rod to get it out. Rendering that threaded section unusable again.

worth the price. Worked as I thought it would and should and expect it’ll sit in a drawer for several years until I need it to do its job again.
