I ordered the kit as a simple way of getting several jig heads and plastic bodies.I had fished the Grand River, near Lansing, Michigan for Small Mouth bass in July 2023. I talked my wife into a guided float trip and the guide outfitted her with an open face spinning rod and a Ned Rig.My wife, with little experience out fished my fly rod efforts with streamer flies, about 2 fish to every one I caught. Over the course of the day she caught over 50 Small Mouth. That was the second time on the same stretch of river that a less experienced angle had beaten my catch rate substantially.I ordered the kit and tried it out on light spinning tackle on an inland lake. I caught between 15 and 20 largemouth bass in under two hours.

If you buy exactly the same two Z-Man fishing items, from Amazon that make up this kit, you can save nearly $2.00 ($6.27 plus $6.89). The information included in the small two page booklet, includes no illustrations and can easily be found online. The fishing lure and terminal tackle rate a 5 star but the price is a 3 star price, so I split the difference.

Comes with everything you need to fish a need rig but the hooks are easily bent and broken but with such a light rig it's to be expected other than that the how to fish guide is more of a gimmick but the need rig catches fish that's for sure

I cannot stress enough that you need this in your tackle box. Over the course of the summer I have had several outings in which I caught 10-12 bass. My first trip using this bait I caught 7 bass in my first 12 casts. Now mind you that I fish a small private "catch and release" lake, but I have fished that lake many times and would net 1 or 2 fish. I would have to guess that I have caught in the neighborhood of 75 bass so far and today is July 11th. This is hands down the single most effective bait that I have ever used. No fish tales here boys, this is the real deal. It is pricey, but it is worth every penny. I have gone through 3 Jig heads and five TRD baits thus far. That is 12 bass per bait... very durable. This has to be used on an ultralight set up to achieve the proper action. Good luck guys.

This "kit" does include everything it states, but the items can be purchased cheaper separately. I was disappointed with the How To booklet that comes with this kit. I was under the impression it would be more than it was. The gear is good, just over priced in my opinion.

Z-Man has always been a good producer of terminal tackle. The NED rig is no exception as it is a fish catcher and as long as it is used on a fairly long rod ( 6 1/2 ft ) minimum and light line and using very little applied action, bass jump on it. This is in part because the NED rig is fairly new and the fish haven't seen it as much as other lures. The Elaztech feature means the lures last a long time without tearing up. It is vital to use the Z-man mushroomz jigs as they have a keeper built in that doesn't allow the bait to slide down the hook shaft. When fish go deep during summer months this rig might prove essential.
