About this item

  • SD (SuperDuty) - Severe-Duty truck brake compound
  • Extreme braking for extreme payloads
  • Extremely high coefficient of friction
  • Extremely high fade resistance
  • Recommended for excessive payloads

Hawk’s SuperDuty Ferro-Carbon material is engineered for severe-duty professional truck fleets and trucks and SUVs towing heavy loads. This material offers unmatched braking performance under high inertia and repetitive braking applications. To drive safely with heavy payloads it is critical to have brakes that operate properly. Heavy fleet trucks and light trucks and SUVs carrying heavy tow loads experience high braking temperatures. Higher temperatures contribute to premature brake pad and rotor wear. Hawk Performance’s SuperDuty product is a sophisticated material that has an extremely high coefficient of friction designed to provide maximum truck and SUV stopping power with excellent high temperature heat dissipation. Upgrade your fleet or tow vehicle’s braking performance with Hawk Performance’s SuperDuty, Sever-Duty compound. Recommended for professional fleets (greater than 1 ton) and light trucks towing excessive payloads.

Bought these pads to go along with new slotted rotors. Mostly because they're on Geno's site too and that's generally a good reference. However, the brake pads squeal terribly. People constantly tell me I need new brakes. "Nope, all good, just replaced 'em." SMH These are too expensive to squeal so bad. Just buy the OEM pads. You know they work and won't squeal like these pigs.

As a person who gets overwhelmed with researching every review possible and truck forums let me tell you these brake pads from this manufacturer are just amazing. Forget the reviews that say they squeal or make noise because they do not. With new rotors, these pads perform their best. When you drive a Ram 2500 - 3500 which is basically the same weight you need semi-metallic pads. Don't fall for the ceramic pads they just don't stop your truck with confidence. leave the ceramic pads for passenger cars. Buy this brand of pads they are great and a little more expensive than other brands but you'll be glad you did.** SPOILER ALERT** These brake pads are not the phenomenal pads that I just mentioned above because, after two weeks of use, they started to squeal like pigs at the slightest break pedal use. Embarrassing as heck, not to mention the craziest amount of brake dust you can imagine. I truly felt that these pads were going ruin my wheel and braking system worst maybe my family's safety on the open highway. I tow a heavy boat of about 8,000 lbs from what I see these brake pads are just not up to par. Look elsewhere you be glad you did.

I’ve had green stuff red stuff and yellow. They suck compared to these. Hawk Severe duty is the way to go! When i read severe duty i was kind of skeptical because I dont do severe braking. I got them ... breeze to install myself... and off I went for a camping trip to Lake Tahoe Ca. When I was coming back it was nothing but twisties..... downhills and more steep down hills... THANK GOD I BOUGHT THESE! My wtick brakes used to fade out after a few hard brakings ... if thats even a word... anyways... refuse to buy any other brakes!!!

I give these a zero if there was such a rating… Horrible brakes..... One of the pads came unglued and so I had metal on metal on one side and a good pad on the other… The other pad started falling apart in chunks… I would stay away from these things ...., I have a 2013 ram duelly ...., I drive 2500 to 3000 miles a week as a hotshot driver… My factory pads (the original ones) lasted 130,000 miles… These didn't even last 30,000 miles!… Stay away from them!!!!

Love these pads. Just make sure you don't loose the retaining clips, because replacements do not come with the brake pads.
