They are identified by a smooth steel faceplate and thermal spring assembly on the front side.

Took me a couple weeks to get around to installing it. Began making bad noises after about 2-3 hours of runtime. Failed completely after 1400 miles. Overheated my truck a little.NO RESPONSE FROM HAYDEN. Pick a different brand, clearly a crappy part and a crappy company.

Works pretty good I think. The fan will stay engaged when you first take off for about 20 seconds, so it very loud! I don;t know if the severe duty fan clutches are supposed to do that but I took one star away because it may not be working correctly.

Replaced the obsolete Motorcraft unit with this at a third of the cost. Works great in the 100+ temp days on the highway. A nice little roar when I leave a traffic light but quickly quietens down after letting e hear the sound of . . . the sound of victory.I've had several Hayden products over the years. (fans, clutches, electric fans, transmission coolers) Never a problem.

Perfect fit for my 1996 Bronco, installed quickly, less expensive than at my FLAPS.Machining and construction look first-rate. And it works, too!There's a world of difference with a working fan clutch :)

This fit and works perfect on my 1990 F150 with a 5.0L. The old one was frozen and caused the fan to make a lot of noise as the motor reved. This one works as it should and increased my fuel mileage by about 3 MPG. The truck runs at the same temp as before as it should. A repair that will pay for itself!b
