It seems to be a quality part, however it is slightly longer than the OEM tie bar for the John Deere GT235 mower. This causes the front tires to toe in slightly. As long as you don't make any very sharp turns and are careful on black top or concrete I don't think it will cause any major problems, but it is something to be aware of and is why I only gave it 3 stars.

This review is for the adjustable tie rod AM133800 for my GT 245 John Deere. It is well made, adjustable and easy to install. The down side is, the locknuts are crimped and cannot be reused and will destroy the bolt threads if removed.I recommend purchasing compression nuts to replace the crimped nuts. This will allow for removal if additional adjustment is needed.Assure the length of the rod is adjusted correctly before installing the nuts.

Did not work on John Deere LX280 (2ws). Should have read the reviews more carefully. This part is slightly longer than the OEM part, which toes the wheels inwards. It's severe enough to be obvious visually, and causing the tires to slip when making sharp turns. Unfortunately, I didn't install this right away, and am now past the return window. Purchased a new OEM part (AM133800) and it was the correct length.

I was apprehensive about doing this because I had not had experience with this type of project before. When the product arrived, it took me about ten minutes to put it on. Unfortunately, I did not pay enough attention and I put it on backwards. It was an easy fix to turn it around and now it works great!

I have an aging John Deere that hasn't cost me anything in the last 15 yrs. This item is exactly what I needed and it arrived super fast. My neighbor put it on for me and I was out mowing everyone's yard in no time.

Installed in minutes on my 2004 LX280 and works just fine. The new mounting nuts are smaller @9/16 in. hex as opposed to 17mm for OEM and a different thread pitch so I couldn't re-use OEM nuts. I went with a aftermarket part this time as it is significantly cheaper and looks like a better press-fit / weldement at the ball joint.

This product was a perfect fit for my John Deere GT235. It seems to be well-made. Glad to see someone still makes parts for the older John Deere's.
