It was great for about a year and a half… home use, so not very often. Now, every time we sue it, it always has the temperature between 93 and 94 degrees…

Gives the same tempature every time it's used. Day or night it's the same. I wouldn't waste your money.

I'm really sick with an infection right now and have been running high temps of 102-103 for four days as verified by a home health nurse & my own thermometer.Because my son also just tested positive for COVID, I decided to get an additional thermometer so we wouldn't have to share & risk him infecting me, so I chose this one, which arrived today. When I scanned it in my ear, it showed the same temp,102F that the nurse just got with his thermometer. However, when I scanned my forehead, like this thermometer claims to be able to do, it gave me 96F. Obviously inaccurate. We tried several times & it was never even close. Then we scanned a drink that we checked the temp of with a food thermometer. All we got was "Lo" and "Err", it never registered the temp.If you're buying this for a regular in-ear thermometer, it's fine. But if like me, you wanted the other features that were promised, find something else. This one doesn't work. All of my reviews are true and accurate based on my own experience.

I love that this thermometer comes with the hygienic caps that fit over it. A very nice way to keep things germ free. The temperature reading is very fast and appears to be pretty accurate. It also has a way to test the temperature of other things, not sure how much I will use that, seems weird to use your ear thermometer on your steak.Overall I am glad I got this, it will be so much better and cleaner than the typical thermometer, not to mention, a lot faster.

I currently have three ear thermometers sitting on my desk. There's one more in my office that's a temporal thermometer and I also have an infrared thermometer (yes, I collect thermometers). It's only fair that I compare apples to apples, so here are the results for my ear thermometers:HealthSmart: 99.9: 98.5Braun Thermoscan Plus: 99.9I really trust my Braun thermometer most. Apparently, HealthSmart agrees. The only sad part for me here is the probe covers for my Braun don't fit HealthSmart. They are really much cheaper for Braun. The one leg up that HealthSmart has over Braun is that the recorded temps are time and date stamped. Braun only has them numbered, as in Reading #1, #2, #3, etc. So, if you need one that has time stamped readings, HealthSmart is the way to go.

For a simple temperature reading with this ear thermometer, all you have to do, once the included batteries are in place, is click it on.The thermometer beeps, and about a second later it beeps twice. You are then ready to place the tip in the ear canal, exactly as directed, click scan and get your instant reading. If you do want use of the whole shebang, you will have to wade through the complicated instructions.I did that, and finally got it completely set up.Here is what you get, if you use every bell and whistle:Once it is set up, there is a date and time feature that can be set for either 12 or 24 hours, standard or military time. The thermometer will then stay up to date for the life of the batteries. The device has memory recall, so each time you use it, it will display the reading you got the time before, thus you will know the exact time and date you took the previous reading. You can change the mode of your device to either ear mode or object mode.Other features are:The stand keeps the thermometer at hand wherever you want to place it. The cover will keep it dust-free.There are two boxes with a total of 30 lens covers included. One more thing I should add is that this thermometer is very sensitive. Therefore it can be difficult to get an accurate reading. You need to place the tip exactly at the right angle in the ear canal if you want to get it just right.I strongly suggest practicing with the thermometer before you actually need it, in order to give yourself a better chance of recording your child's exact temperature.Although setting the thermometer up and learning to use it is going to take some work, this is a great thermometer to have on hand, especially when its needed for any little ones in your household.
