About this item

  • Continuous operating temperature of 1100 degree Fahrenheit, 2000 degree Fahrenheit intermittent
  • Capable of reducing up to 60 percent of radiant heat
  • Special weave that allows it to expand and contract over fittings, terminals and more
  • Helps to prevent vapor lock, protects wires from melting, shields oil and brake lines

Hot Rod Sleeve is thermal sleeving capable of withstanding 1100 degree Fahrenheit continuous. This non-flammable sleeve has a special weave that allows it to expand and contract over fittings. In addition, it has that old school sleeve look with modern heat shield technology. Ideal for shielding fuel lines - helping to stop vapor lock, protect sensitive wire looms from close proximity heat, shield brake lines and hoses, and stop clutch cables from melting. This enables you to fit things into those tight places, and Heatshield Products know custom builds have lots of tight places. Available in 10 feet and 100 feet rolls.

Ran this over a ford small block engine for some oil pressure and temp wires. Works great. Larger sizes I've used around fuel lines for vapor lock issues. Best on the market today!

Very nice tight weave product. Installed easily over brass fittings in fuel lines and appears clean and neat. Supplied with two pieces of manufacture branded heat shrink. For the included length of wrap and cost of kit several pieces of heat shrink would have been very helpful.

This is high quality stuff, and the size is perfect for the smaller tubes, it stretches a little so you can go to 5/8 and probably 3/4 but I wouldn't stretch it too much or you'll lose the shielding properties. I used it on my fuel lines going from the fuel pump to the carburetor and the under hood fuel line going to the fuel pump. I hope it can help with the vapor locking. I like the heat shrinking end pieces but I don't know if they are better than stainless or plastic zip ties, but I used them and they look nice.

One layer of this stuff doesn't do much as it's fire proof but not exactly a high efficiency insulator (I tested). I installed as two layers wherever possible, which is difficult on longer runs but easy on short. Be sure to cut it long enough so it doesn't pull back and waste your nice shrink-wrap termination. It only comes with two short pieces of shrink wrap, so be prepared to buy more and it's not inexpensive. Anyway, as two layers it does ok, but it's expensive and stingy on the enclosed shrink wrap so I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Great product. As other reviews state, get one size larger than the hose you need it for. A 1/2" ID (inner diameter) hose will fit perfectly in the 3/4" heat shield. The heat shrink ends seem kind of thin so I used my own. But the heat shield itself is great quality. It is protecting all the hose in my engine bay very well, even a portion that is right between the block and injection pump.

Use 1/2" for a 3/8" fuel hose. Product is well made. I used on custom fuel setup for my Subaru. I honestly don't know if it can handle the heat rating, but engines don't get to 1100 degrees anyways, maybe a turbo or exhaust pipe will. I have done a different Subaru with custom routed fuel lines under the manifold without heatshields and I never had a problem with those. I feel that these will add more security to the hoses. Makes the fuel lines look cool too.*The headshield works like a Chinese finger trap, you need to push from the bottom and the top will loosen up to slide the hose in. Not hard at all once you get the hang of it.
