These are the correct length and diameter. As you tighten the spring and exerting yourself your palms will sweat and you will think about the wisdom of tightening these springs as your hands become slippery. It would be nice if they were a bit longer as when you let the spring uncoil you would not have to be so careful getting your hand between the door frame and the bar. They all seem to be the same length so this must be the ideal lenght. If they were coated to be less slippery that would have raised to 5 stars.

There's not much one can say about two 1/2" diameter 18" long steel rods - I mean, that's what you're buying and that's what you get! But these worked perfectly when I was replacing and adjusting some garage door springs so deserve an excellent rating - they did what I wanted and are ready for any time I need this functionality again.
