Have used this type before and it is very durable. You can't see through it and it will help keep the cold wind from have hitting you.

I did not realize until I put this material on my Deerstand that you can see through it. The strands are not close enough together.

Do not purchase for deer stand use. My husband chose this for his two deer stands & I wish we'd read other reviews before ordering. When he opened the packages, the chemical smell was overpowering so he laid them out in the sun to see if that would help diminish the odor. We had a brief rain shower that afternoon and noticed the ink from the camo print had bled. The odor remains - no way these can be used on a deer stands. They won't come anywhere near this smell. I'm unable to return since he discarded the packaging.

I intended to use this burlap material with camouflage pattern for a simple self-made ground blind for whitetail deer hunting. The prices is great. The color is pretty much what I needed. Sadly, it is unusable for this purpose in my opinion. The material has a VERY STRONG ODOR. If I had to describe it, I would say it smells like kerosene or lamp oil. Deer will be able to smell this from miles away. Literally. Miles.I attempted to wash the material to remove the smell. Not only did the product begin to fray, the smell did not improve. To make matters worse, the washing machine took on the odor as well and I unknowingly fouled a subsequent load of hunting clothes with this solvent smell. That was just frustrating and wasteful.I suppose you could use it for a ground blind for duck/goose hunting where the animal is at a distance and unlikely to catch the scent of the product. Perhaps you take shots from several hundred yards away? It might be OK for that. It could be fine for disguising a gear cache or other general camouflage tasks, but if the intended use is for a type of hunting where scent is a factor, I strongly urge you to keep looking.
