I chose this one because it came with self tapping screws. The screws were too long for my thin door, so I put 3 washers on each screw and they worked fine. Not a problem of the mfgr, just stating my experience. I am very happy with it. I have a lock on the right side of my door but there always seems to be something in the way so I opted to put this one on the left. no I can choose which side to lock, or if going away for vacation, I can lock both sides, and same for a windy day.

Fonctionnement ok, simple a installer. J'ai du ajouter une planchette de bois pour l'alignement. Les vis ont une rondelle en plastique transparent, dont l'utilité n'est pas décrite. Au global un bon produit mais plus de documentation serait utile.

The latches installed on the door track. The track was pre-stamped with a slot for the bar to enter and catch. The door was pre-drilled to accept latches. However, the bolts included with the latch are a drill type and easily set in the door panel without using the predrilled holes.

It was easy enough to install and it's working smoothly. Now if I could only figure out a way to remember to open them before I hit the "door open" button, that would be ideal. If you need a garage door lock, these are a good choice.
