Perfect for attaching weights to your fishing line without a sliding weight. I put out 80' of line, attach a snap with a duo lock and 2oz of weight, let out another 30' and I am trolling at 20' at 1.5 mph. Perfect for kokanee or fat bows.

Pads lack the tackiness to hold mono. 14# XT slides right past the pads...ok if you are using a release system, but running tattle tail flags is a PIA. Had to order Churches pads to replace...Update...going on how many seasons with these and just saw that you can push the spring back or push it forward towards the jaws to increase tension!!! With the the new pads these things are awesome. Ordering another set before you all read this and buy them out.

I’m running 15# mono and line slips right through them the pads don’t grab and the springs are week. Didn’t realize I wasnt buying offshore clips. It’s amazing the difference in quality between the 2. I ordered 2 doz of these and couldn’t even run a floating Rapala off my board as the line would just slip, I then realized my mistake and order offshore releases. Amazing difference and understand what quality can provide. On a side note if you are using these For snap weights I think they would work well but DO NOT TRY THEM ON PLANER BOARDS!!!

Just got these and used them for several days of running snap weights walleye fishing, mostly using 8 ounce weights and regularly banging them off a rocky bottom at 1.5 to 2 mph. The price is good, and the jaws have a sturdy grip on the line. I was using 30 lb braid. I sometimes wrap the line around the clip once so it can’t move or come off the line. Mostly this time I didn’t bother; just clipped on the line and ran it behind the nipple. Some of the banging and snagging pulled the clip down the line but I never lost a drop line. Couldn’t tell the difference from the more expensive clips I’ve used.

Bought these taking a chance for snap weights clips, since the offshore tackle ones are rediculous priced. These work great! I highly recommend.Update: several years later these still are holding up and not slipping on the pads. I'm buying more!CLICK THE HELPFUL BUTTON BELOW PLEASEEEEEE! :)

I used these for sinker weights to get my line down further so the crankbait will go deeper. I also use them on my planer boards. They hold well. These are clips I use to keep the board on my string. I have another without the bump in it that I keep loose so it will release the string when i jerk on it.. 'These should come with the split rings. They do not. I couldn't find a multipack of split rings so I bought small key chain split rings for $0.50 each to put on these. These are strong enough rings to hold. I saw some rings on some round paper key tags but didn't think they were strong enough. These are an accceptable cheaper imitation of the OR16.

Works great, but once in a few pinches the little guide pins do not line up perfectly and it catches slightly. Not a big deal, just press slightly again and all is well. They seem to grip well, and the center pin eliminates the chance for the clip to slide off while fighting a fish. Currently using on planer boards (so I don't lose one in rough weather), and as snap weights (just add a snap, or swivel). A cheaper alternative to Off-Shore.
