We got this for the basic reason of keeping sunglasses from sliding around on the dashboard. You can use this for more than just that which is a PLUS! These days with most new vehicles being push start, you would think that a compartment for just your keys would be created, NOT. This is a great place to place your key and never lose it as it will be in sight. Such a simple design and no sticky stuff to adhere to your dashboard, yay!

My family share one express (toll) lanes transponder. We move it from car to car depending on the vehicle we use. The toll agency gives us Velcro strips to attach to the transponder and the vehicle but because we don't use the toll lanes everyday, we don't want to have a permanent Velcro strip attached to the car. Also, they leave a residue when removed. Without any kind of adhesive, the transponder will simply slide around on top of the dashboard with vehicle movements. When I came across this item and looked at the dimensions, it was like match made in heaven. The tray fits the transponder perfectly, it's non-slip without using any permanent adhesives so I can simply leave the transponder in the tray and move the tray from car to car when needed. The non-slip base works well and if you need a cellphone holder, iPhone 15 Pro Max fits well between the slots. Highly recommend this item.
