Great tool if you want to do free-motion quilting but are a bit intimidated to do your own design. You just follow the little openings in the template and you can get a consistent pattern.

I got a ruler foot as someone else recommended. The stencil works great. I'm currently quilting my first twin size quilt. It's not easy, but doable with this stencil.

These took a long time to arrive. I think it was shipped from overseas. The templates are good quality and function fine under the machine, I have no complaints there. They do not come with anything but the templates. You get a meandering line, a spiral, and longer meandering line that allows you to kind of pivot it around different angles. But that's all you get. There is no storage bag of any kind, just a bubble envelope and there are no other helpful parts like gloves or a handle to help push it around, there also aren't any instructions. They are a bit on the thin side, but I do feel there are better deals to be had that have more variety of templates for similar money.

These quilting templates are easy to use and offer a variety of options, which is an added value and will allow for some variety in my finished products. I mostly quilt dog jackets for my local shelter and it's nice to have something a bit different than the usual straight lines. The doggies deserve it and it really doesn't add that much more time to the process. Besides, it's FUN!

I have a few other rulers for this purpose, these are a bit thin and flex slightly. They would be good for beginners just starting with free motion quilting, as beginners tend to stitch slower and that wouldn't stress the rulers as much. If you are an experienced quilter, I don't know that I would trust these when stitching quickly, they are a bit thin, and not as well made as others. Still, I will use them on my next small project. Also beginners, don't forget to buy a ruler foot to use with these!

So this would have worked but, shown in the 4th photo is one of the free motion foots that I have. I have 3 different ones and none of them worked. * YOU NEED A ROUND RULER RULER FOOT OR ONE THAT WORKS WITH ACRYLIC PATTERNS*. It does tell you on the store page, but I thought I had one. I did try a couple of different ways to use the ruler since I did not have the correct foot. I was able to sorta use it with the presser foot I had, but it made my machine sew wonky and I even tried tracing it on there and sewing with that presser foot and my walking foot. But my machine was still sewing wonky, I finally gave up on it for now. Nothing wrong with the patterns. the are very nice quality, I highly recommend them as long as you have the correct foot! Last photo show my hot mess after attempting serval times before giving up tonight. lol

I’m a newer quilter, and I want to make my own designs without having to take my piece somewhere to be quilted on a longarm. These give a few basic shapes that you can follow to quilt on a regular machine. Definitely useful for smaller projects. Big projects might be tough to keep the pattern consistent. But I like having a guide to keep me on track.
