They do tend to break more frequently than older models but still best for easy, consistent cheese slices. Hand wash seems to improve longevity.

These are the easiest cheese slicers out there! Perfect to slice across the whole block of cheese instead of half of it, and nice thin slices too using the thin side. Trick is to hold both ends while slicing to not stretch out the wire too quickly. They don’t last forever but that’s why they’re cheap - order a couple at a time!

My mom had a cheese slicer similar to this one growing up and it's the only way I can cut a cheese block with ease! It's so simple to use, if you can use a potato peeler you can use this. Each stroke gets a whole slice and it's child safe. It's easy to clean and dishwasher safe.

I love this tool. It saves my hands and makes neat slices. No risk of cutting yourself. I had one before and it broke after several years. I was devastated until I could get these new ones.

It is fine at the moment, but there is no way to tighten the wire when it loosens so I can’t think it will last a long time. However it was inexpensive

I did receive two.My wife has one of the same type she got about twenty years ago. The wires are stretched and it always seems to be in the dishwasher. Other than that is works fine. My mom has one about the same age and condition, but doesn't have a dishwasher.I was tired of always having to clean the cheese slicer (because nobody else could bother) so I looked to buy more.The same type seemed to be plentiful on Amazon so I looked for a two pack.The second time I used one of them it snapped in half. I wasn't going to complain cause there was another. Until now.The other happily sliced cheese for not quite eleven months then it snapped as well.I was using this on a regular medium cheddar, not much resistance, when it broke.It's a shame cause I like this style. Now I have to look for another, but I'm going to look elsewhere online and in thrift shops for a older version. If those break after a few uses or not quite a year that's ok cause it's already put in plenty of use.Usually as time passes the quality of products should get better.

Had this cheese slicer for many years and paid a couple of dollars for it. Recently decided to purchase a couple more since my daughter wanted one and i would keep one for a back up. Well, it was not more than a month and my daughter told me hers snapped in the center and broke. Good thing I bought that second one. :( I've had mine for several years and was surprised the new one broke so soon, especially since they cost three times as much. I hope the other one I got with it will last a bit longer... I will try and get back and report whether it did or now.

I had one of these for many years and abused it by putting in dishwasher. Finally rust around a grommet wore and it broke. I looked forever to find in a store as I prefer that and even went to the place I bought it on a vacation and the store didn't have one in stock. So I bought a more expensive similar one and used it once and ordered the one on Amazon which is exactly the one I had for many years. It's basic, non adjustable and does nice thin or thicker slices and takes up little space in a drawer. I hope this one will last as many years as our previous one as this is the perfect slicer in my opinion. I do hold pressure at both the handle and the tip as I like how it slices but common sense told me that the plastic may break on sharp Tillamook cheddar, for example.

I had a wire cheese slicer like this for the longest time. When the wire broke I searched for a replacement. I tried other styles because I couldn't find one like yours. I was elated when I saw this on Amazon! Not only does it perform perfectly to my expectations, I have 2 of them thanks to the buy 1 get 1 deal.

These slicers work well.The bad part is they may last for years or only months but hey they're inexpensive.The more expensive ones I've bought don't last any better.It does help to grasp the end with one hand and the handle with the other when slicing to divide the pressure on it.I like that it has a longer wire for bigger blocks of cheese.
