Now I've been fishing bait casting reels for well over 40 years. I've heard stories of people being able to cast 1/16oz Lures with these BFS Reels and I thought it was complete BS. So, I bought this reel to see if it was true and it Was! When I purchased it I put on some 6-pound braid on it and could cast a 1/16 Tube jig A good distance with a little practice and with a 1/8 ounce cast master spoon I can almost cast all the line off spool! Needless to say, I'm very pleased with this reel excellent value smooth as silk and casts great highly recommended.

My first BFS reel, and my current favorite out of all of my reels. It looks great, feels great, performs perfectly, and is super light. No issues whatsoever. The quality of material is obviously not on par with my Tatula, but it's so much fun, and can throw super light lures out of the box. I love the shallow spool, and I get plenty of versatility with it, and haven't even felt the urge of using the larger spool that I purchased. The value is amazing, and I will definitely purchase again if I ever want or need to.

Everything is perfect about this reel except the tension knob and another thing. The tension knob does not work at all so you just have to rely on your brakes. There's no noise coming from the reel and it feels good quality and it's worth it for the money. Another problem is that if you use too thin of a line the line will get stuck inside the edges of the spool and might break.

A very capable little baitcasting reel which easily casts one gram lures with ease 50 turns of the handle loads a sufficient amount of line and cuts right down on birdsnests which can happen to the best of us would definitely recommend this reel to both novice and more experienced anglers

I have just come back from using this reel for the first time. I recently dislocated my shoulder so not able to fly fish yet, so I thought I'd try BFS (Bait Finesse System) that this reel is designed for. I can actually cast most of my flies with this reel and the BFS rod I bought. So I can still fly fish!....Major win!

I bought this reel after buying the doviello gka200, I wanted to fish ultralight and the Hicc50 is the answer, it can cast very well, very small and feather light, in the photos I have it paired with my Handing MagicL ultralight and the feel and balance is great, yes the hicc50 people does not have a clicker in the spool tension know, but it does come with drag clicker and a very light bfs spool, I put 6# mono, the magnets on 4.5 clicks and I get no backlashes or birds nest, I also like the fact I can use it in the saltwater as well, but I am using it for panfish, doviello is proof you do not have to spend hundreds of dollars for a conquest calcutta bfs or thw like to have a great time on the water. Do yourself a favor and get one.

I bought this as my higher end bfs reel. I have other cheap ones and they just weren't cutting it, and I saw some video reviews on this and decided to give this one a shot.I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of this reel.It's super smooth. I think it's smoother than my Abu Garcia Revo stx, which cost me double when it was on sale.There's barely any play on the reel handle knobs, spool housing, side plates, etc. For this price point I would expect some but it's really well built.The drag clicks are really nice. It's audible but not annoying like some other reels I've used.It casts great. I can cast a trout magnet about 30ft with this. It can cast as well as my ultra lite shimano spinning combo.On the normal spool, I can cast a 8th oz jig with a curly grub out 100ft easily. Haven't tried a half or a football yet but I have a feeling it's not going to have any issues.The magnetic brakes are really good on this thing. I was casting the jig and caught grass behind me as I was launching the rod forward. I heard that dreaded zip from the drag clicker and I knew what had happened instantly. I looked down and saw a huge bird's nest but the spool stopped as quickly as I was able to look down. I've seen bird's nest as bad as this before and it usually ends up with me just cutting the line off. Well, I took a chance and slowly pulled on the line and it just came off all the way without any hesitation. Not once did it tangle where I had to reel forward to untangle. I've had plenty of bad backlash before and I've never experienced anything like this.This reel is just well built. My only gripe is that it has a bit of a weak drag with only upto about 10lbs but since it's geared toward bfs it's adequate.Absolutely recommended, which is rare to say about a higher priced reel directly from China.

First, if you're getting into BFS fishing, this is a great reel to start! I think the quality is very high, and the ability to start BFS with a more cost effective reel to make sure if you like this style of fishing is very advantageous! BFS fishing is a total blast! Fishing 8-10lb braid, 6-10lb flouro leaders and small finesse crankbaits, jerkbaits, and small soft plastics or finesse jigs makes getting bites so much easier! -- The reel handless fish very well, and the drag will ensure that you won't break off bigger fish when they do strike. ALSO...i ordered a right hand retrieve, and Amazon sent me left hand....Doviello/Acura the manufacturer responded within 1-business day and made sure my returned/exchanged reel was the proper right hand retrieve that I ordered. -- I was very thankful for their quick response. -- If you're on the fence about BFS...this is a great reel to get! -- I think its smooth as silk, has a good drag, looks amazing (looks like Shimano reels 5times the price) and also will get you casting light BFS style lures. This reel will take you down the BFS rabbit hole for sure 🤪
