Carburetor exploded view
- Common engines for 1/5 RC cars are equipped with walbro carburetors, common models WT997, WT813 and WT1107. The internal structure is almost identical. The main function is to inject fuel into the engine with the proper mixture ratio. It belongs to diaphragm carburetor.
- The working principle is completely through the rotation of the crankcase. As the piston moves up and down, the pressure in the crankcase will be positive and negative. It is through these positive and negative pressures that it is sucked into the interior of the carburetor. Vacuum occurs when the piston moves upward and pulls.
- The main function of the carburetor is to adjust the appropriate mixing ratio and fuel supply to adjust the different speeds of the engine. At lower speeds, it does not need a lot of fuel injection into the engine. Therefore, the oil pump inside the carburetor uses air pressure to let less fuel into the engine. When the diaphragm pressure is low, the adjustment rod and the lever spring below push it up.

The internal pressure of the engine is connected to the carburetor through this small hole from the crankcase. When installing, pay attention to the small hole where the carburetor and the gasket are aligned. In addition, the mat and the carburetor must be tightly combined, otherwise the engine will not be in good condition or cannot be started.

Oil storage layer
The groove at the bottom of the carburetor pump body is the oil storage layer of the fuel pump.
Fuel filter layer
Fuel filter layer inside the carburetor, if there is no filter element in your fuel tank or the filter element is dirty. The filter screen of the carburetor will be blocked first, resulting in poor oil intake or insufficient internal pressure resulting in insufficient oil supply.
When the filter layer is removed, you can see a relatively large oil inlet channel, and the filter layer can block relatively large dust. Small particles cannot be filtered out by the filter layer
The triangular oil needle
The triangular oil needle plays the role of pressure regulation and sealing. The triangular oil needle controls the amount of oil entering through the movement of the adjustment rod. The damage of the triangular oil needle is irreparable.
