Not for a 5/8" hose. Fits well on 3/8" and deforms easily.

Not much to say, it's a hose clamp. That said, they are accurate to their size description and held my hoses with good compression pressure.

5/8 size is 9/16 when relaxed. Perfect fit for 3/8 hose on barbed fitting, nice and tight. Exactly as pictured except the box now says Made in Taiwan.

UPC 008236890150In the box: 20 steel clamps painted light greenThis is a box of small painted steel spring action hose or tubing clamps, also known as constant tension clamps. If you went to your local hardware store where they have the Hillman bins with the assortments of nuts, bolts, screws and fasteners these clamps would be one of those boxes. I was very frustrated at the sizing of these clamps as it was difficult to find the actual min/max dimensions (these clamps have a very small size range as they only expand about .07-.10"). I bought an assortment and this is what I measured them at:59732 - 3/8" size - .31-.38"59733 - 7/16" size - .39-.47"59734 - 1/2" size - .45-.53"59735 - 9/16" size - .52-.62"59736 - 5/8" size - .57-.67"Fully open these clamps go slightly out of round, I measured on the small side. If you are placing the clamps over a barbed fitting make allowance for the extra hose expansion at the barb, you may have to go a size up. Hope this is helpful.

So far so good. Used on a gates transmission cooler line hose. Nice tight grip. I all used the screw type clamps which were good ...these seem even better. Hope rusting wont become an issue or the constant pressure reducing over time.

Sending back, I thought they fit a 5/8 in hose, not the case. Item needed more info regarding size of hose they clamped, no mention in ad.

These clamps work perfect for a 3/8-inch inner diameter, 5/8-inch outer diameter fuel/pcv hose. The clamp is slightly smaller in diameter than 5/8-inch so when released it will evenly clamp on a 5/8-inch outer diameter hose.Also, these clamps come in ALL green even though their picture shows otherwise. I called The Hillman Group customer service asking if these were black or green prior to purchasing but they were quite worthless. They couldn't tell me the color of the clamps, they wouldn't open a box of clamps to determine the color, and they never followed-up calling me back with the answer like they promised.

The clamp's outside diameter is 5/8 inch at maximum expansion. It is the correct diameter for 3/8 inch inner diameter rubber gas line hose, which has an outside diameter of 5/8 inch.Unlike worm drive clamps that have a high pressure point inner the area of the screw which may crack plastic fittings, these clamps provide constant and even pressure around the entire outside of the fitting even as the hose may shrink with age.
