Install was relatively straightforward, connections all same as or similar to factory carb, started right up after, idles well, throttles well (which is why I bought it because the original carb no longer throttled well). Bargain at that price.

I took my over 10 year old Stihl FS80 trimmer in for repair. It wouldn’t start. The gentleman called me and told me the cost to repair it with OEM Stihl parts. I told him that I didn’t want to put that much money in a 10 year old trimmer and would buy me a new one. When I went to pick it up he told me about this carb. So I gave it a try. Watched a video on YouTube on how to do it. Swapped out old carb, lines, tank grommets, spark plug and air filters in approx 30–45 mins. Fueled up, primed it and it started in 4 pulls. Ran like a champ. I did adjust the low end. To get it to idle lower. Ran it for approx. 30 mins. No issues so far. Great part and great recommendation from the repair guy.

This was just as advertised. It was a snap to install. It was exactly what I needed.I did have to do a little fine tuning of the low speed as the rpms were a little high.but other than that it no complaints. i have dealt with this company a couple of time andso far they have sold quality products at very good prices. the carburetor came with fuel linesfilters gaskets etc so pretty much all i needed in one stop package.Would buy again.

I installed the carb on my Stihl FS85R and have been using it for two seasons now. Works great. Took me a while to get it adjusted so it starts reasonably easy, but it's been working well ever since. The newer Stihl products I have seem to flood easily so it takes a bit of practice to get the starting down. Hint: Back off the choke the second it starts to "catch", even if it doesn't start, and don't put it back on without trying another pull or two. That's been my experience anyway, with both my FS85R and MS250 chainsaw.

This will also work with your fs38!Great package, I just needed the carb. sparkplug, and fuel filter. With a slight modification to the air filter and one rotation of the idle screw the trimmer works like new.

Bought two, The first Carb was tuned perfect on startup for my Stihl HT75 polesaw, I put a second carb on my FS85 string trimmer and had to back the idle down a lot and adjust air screws out further than spec but both carb work fine once tuned, also they only give you two gaskets when three are needed, I just reused my old gaskets between the carb and intake spacer
