Im a fan of Hipshot simply because of their manufacturing tolerances and detail. This worked well as a replacement on a PRS SE 277 baritone. Its lighter in weight than the original and a little lower profile. The mounting screws did not line up with the original holes but I knew that and had no problem plugging and drilling new holes. I looks really nice. The only drawback I had was that I had to remove the spring on the 6th string saddle and cut the 5th string saddle spring in half so that I could get it to intonate. It worked out and had no issues accepting the large baritone strings. They are a little pricey but in the long run they are worth it. For reference I also changed out the pickups for DiMarzio D Activators, added a TUSQ XL nut, Grover tuning machines and rebuilt the electronics with CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack and toggle. With the Hipshot bridge its a chug machine.

After UPS not delivering it, I finally got another "new" one with a scratch and fingerprints and packaged weird, but whatever. I'm sure I'll find a guitar for it, someday. It is a nice heavy bridge.

Mine came in Hipshot packaging from Ike’s. I picked up the bridge upon receipt and it has a nice weight to it. The quality is really high. I can see how this might contribute to more sustain. The saddles themselves are designed really well. There are three things I’d like to point out about them - the opening is a lot bigger so it is a lot easier to put a string through them without frustration than a Fender bridge. The saddles are thicker than a Fender which allowed Hipshot to design the saddle adjustment screws to sit below the saddle in normal operation - so no pointy sharp saddles screws digging into your palm when palm muting. Finally, they are clearly machined better than a Fender bridge allowing for smoother adjustments. I was able to intonate my Fender Player Mustang very precisely. And, I’m sounding good. This guitar is singing sweetly. I installed this along with a Graphtech TUSQ XL nut and it’s a much smoother sounding guitar now.

Update Dec 2020:I ended up swapping this out for a Fender American Standard Hardtail bridge to see if I could overcome some setup issues and it made a big difference. While the bridge itself is nice, compared to the fender bridge it seemed more limited in it's adjustment range. In some applications it could be great. In mine didn't work so well.Wish it came in actual hipshot packaging, kind of strange that it didn't. However after setting it up on a new Stratocaster build it works perfectly. Very comfortable under my palm, no sharp edges, saddle screws stay put. Overall a good looking, well made bridge.

I recently built a hardtail Stratocaster and came across this Hipshot bridge. I've always had great experiences with Hipshot products so I thought to give this bridge a try. Wide range of adjustments, polished chrome, comes with the allen key, and just works. I prefer the narrower string spacing that this bridge features, along with the thru-the-body string style. Great sustain and stable tuning rounds out the list of features.I also tend to rest the meat of my hand on the bridge when I play, and found this bridge quite comfortable. It also allow for easy hand muting. I really couldn't think of any way to make this bridge better.Highly recommended.

This is an excellent high quality hard bridge. String thru body. Saddle corners are sharp and need some filing for those that palm mute their strings. Chromed Solid brass. Great price amazon!!! Stewmac sells these for $75.
