What does a fuel injection pressure regulator do?

The fuel pressure regulator helps maintain the fuel pressure in the Electronic Fuel Injection System.

If the fuel system needs more fuel pressure, the fuel pressure regulator allows more fuel to go to the engine. This is important because that is how the fuel gets to the injectors

Symptoms Of A Bad Fuel Regulator

  • Black smoke coming from the exhaust
  • Blackened spark plugs
  • Engine won’t crank
  • Excessive fuel pump noise
  • Engine misfires/poor acceleration
  • Fuel starts leaking
  • Gasoline in the vacuum hose
  • Reduced fuel mileage

where is the fuel pressure regulator located?

The fuel injection pressure regulator is located at the end of the fuel rail and connects to the injectors of the vehicle. In order to locate the fuel pressure regulator, you must find and follow the fuel rail in your engine first and you can find it at the end before the fuel gets into the engine.

Easy to install and started right up on first try with some hesitation. Truck wasn't starting on first try and gas mileage was starting to decrease. I will update if I have any problems.
