Can't beat Hitec servos for the price.

Used to replace my rudder servo on a 20 year old RC boat. Had similar specs to my old one and worked perfectly.

One of the best micro servo out there. Good torque and a robust gear train. I use a lot of these.

The screw that comes to mount a servo arm is way too long (3x too long) and cannot be screwed in enough to hold the arm in place. I am going to have to find a shorter screw that will keep the arm mounted.I put the servo in an E-Revo 1/16 and everything was fine.

good, and not too expensive.

Nice little servo... using for throttle servo so it's going to get a lot of work.... not high torque work, but lots of movement. I'll update review after a couple of months of use. Last servos only made it about 8 months. One servo is outside the plane right behind the engine and the other is inside the wing.

Starting off saying I HATE the stock Traxxas 2080 micro servo, I have bad luck with them (even with the 1/10 Summit)! This is my first non-Traxxas servo so I am sure I have a lot to learn...I hate that I have to leave a negative review on a product that is supposed to be 5 stars, maybe I just got a "dud". So I installed it (with small difficulties) and did the steering alignment, all worked well except it was a little slow, even with my BEC receiver pack installed on my 1/16 Summit. It was just slow and buzzy from the start. I figured oh well, it's just normal... Guess not, had a few runs (about 4) but the the steering locked up and flipped the truck (was not funny when it happened at full speed!) I took the truck apart (time consuming with TBR skids) and the darn thing would not even move, not even from the TX. Tried it with a different truck and no luck.... I am currently awaitng vendor response (Scorger Deals) but have a feeling that a claim will have to be opened..... I think I am done with the 1/16 line until Traxxas can just come out with an ACTUAL micro servo that works...Thanks for reading and hope yours works!

I love hitec servos. I never have any issues with them. They take a beating and they are easy to repair if you need to. However, I never needed to. I used these in my 51" AJ Slick, never had a problem. They center well and get the job done. 3D Classics!

I bought 2 of these along with the mini maestro, to control the face plate, and the eyes in my Iron Man helmet, the helm goes up the lights turn off, the face plate goes back down, the lights flicker and come back on. It's pretty epic looking. Took me about a week to program the maestro, but you can use the 6 channel, and the 12 channel, it's the same code that I wrote.I saved the code in case my maestro ever needs to be replaced. But so far 2 of these work great!

I got 2 of these to replace the stock traxxas 2080 steering servos on 2 1/16 erevos that I have. There are a couple things that I wish I had known before I bought them...but nothing that is Hitec's fault, just that it wasn't made specifically for the erevo. Problem number one, the stock 2080 has the wires coming out of the TOP of the servo while the 85MG they come out of the BACK of the servo making getting the servo into the hole a challenge, but with a little brute force they slipped right in, actually with a little room to spare.Problem number two, the holes in the steering arms that come with the servo are not even close to big enough for the bolts in the steering system on the truck to go through, and the arms from the traxxas servo do not fit the output shaft on the Hitec. So what I did is heat up one of the steering bolts with a lighter and put it through the hole so that it would be threaded like the traxxas ones. I have run a couple batteries through them now and they have not failed. I hear that you can get a Losi metal arm, but I am cheap so I thought I would try to make it work with what came with it ;-).The servo is noticeablely faster than the stock one and much smoother making the driving much more responsive and controlled.Bottom line...great servo for the same money as the stock one...plush you get to say your car is "modded" ;-)I just wish that they could work out the arm issue.
