Plastic. box was broken, nnot in deliverym because the pieces were not in the box. Product itself was ok, so I won't return it. Someone in shipping decided to ditch a damaged product

Using for light metal projects 3/8 down to 1/16. Has worked very well for all applications. I'm not the greatest of welders so I need to watch my temperature close. If I get too hot sometimes it burns off a bit more of the outer coating than you would want. But that's me not the product.

I am a casual welder that has the occasional need to stick metal to metal for convenience. Making fence or gate gadgets, mods for a lawn mower, etc. is all I do but it's nice to know that I can do it without having to look for a specific bracket that would limit my choices. These rods have performed well and easily meet my needs.
